the signal at my house is weak so the phone is constantly switching between 1x and evdo when idle but only after it disconnects by itself during times the phone is not being used. away from home my data connection stays connected all the time. this makes my late night online syncs not work due to "no data connection" type errors is this normal to save battery? im running cf03,mobile shell, phonex iconsoft and spb keypad thanks for your help/ answers |
Re: normal for data connection to disconnect when idle?
It's actually normal for the data to stay connected until told to disconnect. If I leave my phone on overnight, I can see the data counter tick up to 24 hours until it loops back around. There is a registry edit that can make the data disconnect if you want, but it seems like you have completely the opposite.

Re: normal for data connection to disconnect when idle?
Are you in an area with low signal? If it looses the signal completely then data will disconnect.

thank you bw. as i stated in my first post, my signal at home is very weak. ex;i sent several mms messages back to back and it had to reconnect each time. glad to know its normal. all my phones have trouble from time to time so its not just my Omnia thats reception sucks on. it actually holds evdo better than my others |
