Re: GPS SOFTWARE after ROM Upgrade
I use the newest Garmin Mobile XT. I love it. It rivals a standalone GPS system with functions. Flawlessly uses the internet and the phone features of the Omnia. I doesn't take "too" long to get a lock, usually about 15 seconds or so, although ymmv.

Re: GPS SOFTWARE after ROM Upgrade
Yes Garmin tends to move a little choppy but that is it's worst flaw. I chose to deal with it for the stellar internet enhanced google search and live traffic updates via the web. Igo 8 and amigo can't compete with that.

Re: GPS SOFTWARE after ROM Upgrade
Route 66 sucks. The maps are sections of the US and u have to switch out each time. A trip to NC for me from Ohio was like 3 or 4 different maps. And they take up about a gig each. The navigation within the maps was.. ok...

Re: GPS SOFTWARE after ROM Upgrade
I downloaded and installed Amaze GPS and it is really great, free too. After loading it, I tested it from the airport to my house. It gave me voice directions, map like that of garmin and tom tom, I was really impressed.

Re: GPS SOFTWARE after ROM Upgrade
Amaze is great for a free app. Tis what I use For directions. I also have Google maps, MS Live Search, GPS Today, and VisualGPSce. All of those are really nice and free.
