I flashed a rom on using the UMDL way and now my Omnia is stuck on flight mode. Can't do *228 or anything. I dialed #43574357* to bring up device info. PDA Version is s:i910.1.ov.cfo3.20961. Phone version,phone number,meid,system id,channel,esn,prl/eri,technology and network all say N/A. I went to settings->system->version and rom version,modem version,h/w version,prl version,wdc all say N/A also. Is my phone bricked/dead or can it be revived?!?!

No where could I find the carrier. I'm really new to all this flashing and modding. Any help would be so greatly appreciated!

Omnia doesn't have to flash the carrier cab. Though he could and it might help.

What did you flash to? Did you flash the CF03 ROM from Verizon first? If not then download that and flash using the exe and you should be good.

I found a verizon carrier cab. Is there a specific folder where I have to install it?

I've tried the verzon flash through the website and it always stuck at 60%. And the emrgency download never worked. So I tried it with the umdl and thats how I got the phone to turn back on all the way.

Sigh. You really should read and then read again before you try to do this stuff. It can and will leave your phone bricked if you are not careful.

The cab can go any where on your phone. Then you need to explore to the location you put the cab file and tap on it to start the install.

The dcd verizon carrier cab did nothing. I guess I will just keep trying to flash it from different computers. On my pc it keeps hanging at 60% sometimes for 30 mins!

Flash back to CF via. UMDL-look at the threads, I posted one called official rom is here, there you have the CF.img and UMDL to flash your phone back to normal

Is there a reason why when I done the verizon official update it always stayed at 60% and never rebooted the phone to complete the update? Should I manually restart the phone at 60%?

No. The whole thing. Use UMDL and READ how to. make sure you have the USB driver installed and USB sync off, use USB2.0 if you have it, and flash back to CF. Good luck

Listen to the guys with the really high thanks scores they obviously know what they are talking about. Read the threads before youtake action on anything. The Omnia is the first phone Ive ever done any on this with and I have not had one glitch, nothing nadda zilch. READ THE POSTS!!!!!!!!

Ok I will try the umdl way again. Do I turn off active sync on phone too and change it to mass storage or it doesn't matter?

I don't know if it would hurt anything to switch it to mass storage, but I've always left it on activesync. Changing the connection settings in the PC activesync ensures that your computer won't be trying to connect to it.

Everything was going fine until it got to switching usb to phone. It couldn't find com 0 and the download failed. I had the usb plugged into the should I try one of the ports in the back?

Did you install the phone driver? I'm not sure if it's necessary or not, but I think I remember doing it way back when. Let me see if I can find it, then I'll post a link.

Yes I turned the phone off clicked detect plugged the usb in and then turned on. I was trying to find the verizon carrier cabs/roms to try and manually load it so I could atleast be able to dial out to *228. I'm having no luck finding anything.

What are you clicking on in UMDL? PDA? Are you trying to flash CF03, a custom ROM, etc? Not to be a pain, but what instructions are you looking at and following when you're trying to flash?

The carrier cabs won't work. The ROM did not finish loading the radio portion of the ROM. You need to reflash with the full CF03 ROM to get it working again. In this case UMDL will not help you. If you can't get it working then I suggest you take it back to Verizon and tell them that it died during the flash to CF03.

I don't think verizon will help me. I bought the phone from someone and had it activated with page plus prepaid. I've been trying the official cfoe from verizon but it runs for 6-7 mins and freezes at 60%. Would page plus be able to reflash the phone from their end through their system?

Your carrier cannot flash ROMs from their end, it has to be done locally on the client-side (i.e. the phone's user, you).
