Instant Messaging question

Heya everyone!
I have some questions about instant messaging and the omnia. First, if I use the Microsoft Messenger on the Omnia, do I have to pay per message or anything? I have the unlimited data plan if that matters.

See, my son has Xbox Live and I want to be able to message back and forth with him without having to worry about going bankrupt lol!

If nothing else, is there a program that will use my unlimited data plan and allow me to send messages to MSN Messenger (without charging me for text messages)?

Take care,
Rob

Re: Instant Messaging question

msn will use either wifi or your 3g plan to connect. so as long as its unlimited you will be free of any charges.

If you want to connect to msn messenger but want something that looks nicer than silly ole msn messenger or live messenger try BeeJive.. works really well even for being in beta...

Give it a try!

do you have unlimited internet plan and/or unlimited messeging? I remember reading somehere I guess it was on the license I greement that all instang messeges are concider or taken as texting. Therefore, if you do not have unlimited text messeging you will be charged, but I guess asking a rep wouldnt hurt..

Re: Instant Messaging question

I'll never use Nimbuzz. Maybe it's my lead foil hat but I don't want all of my passwords, conversations, data, etc. collected in one place, by one company like that.

Beejive worked when I used it but it did have issues* on my -then- unflashed Omnia. Maybe they've been corrected by now.

*Phone stopped waking with front button even went set.

edit: You're only charged (in the form of a txt msg) for IM's sent using the multi-client that comes with the VZ i910. 3rd party IM clients are just data plan usage. I was concerned before I had unlimited text but it checks out.
