Internet Connection
 

Hey guys, can someone tell me what the letters/numbers mean in the internet connection icon at the top in the taskbar? Sometimes it goes from EV to 1x. Are either of those 3G connection? I'm just asking because I've never seen it say 3G. Thanks

With Verizon and Sprint EV is EVDO or 3G. You see the 3G icon on GSM phones.

ok so does that mean that our phone are not GSM phones?

1x = 1xRTT = 1 times Radio Transmission Technology this icon appears when you are roaming.

Correct. That means nothing really as Verizon is a CDMA carrier. They do have some "world" phones that have CDMA and GSM radios in it but the Omnia is not one of them.
