Don't forget to set Location to "On".

Start/Settings/Personal/Phone/GPS

What GPS program are you using?

Alright, let's roll with Google Maps, then...

4 steps to get GPS working:

1) Go into Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> Services tab -> GPS, then click change setting. Set to location on. Reboot

2) Open Google Maps. Open Menu -> Options -> GPS Settings, then change the setting to set manually at COM 8, 57600 (sometimes you can leave it set to managed by windows, but this is the failsafe). Say OK

3) In Google Maps again, select Menu -> then make sure Use GPS is checked

4) Sit outside til you get the first lock. Could take anywhere from 15 seconds to 5 minutes. Be patient and you'll get it

Personally, I disagree with setting a com setting.... works fine just leaving it as is on intermediate driver (atleast for things like google maps and bing). Best thing that I've found out to do for the first lock/cold lock is jump in your car, take a drive, and put your phone on your dash ;) just know that it can take several minutes.

So to be perfectly clear here. With CF03 GPS will lock... eventually? Because when I tried it the only thing that would work was the cell tower triangulation.

Be sure to follow the steps in post #6 above

Letting Windows manage the GPS hasn't worked for me in CC20, CF03, Adryn's 1.7 or his CF03 2.0 6.5 Vanilla. I also suspect that the lock isn't coming as quickly in his 6.5 Vanilla as it did when I used the stock CF03.
