Can Bluetooth be hacked to work with my car?
So my bluetooth on my phone doesn't work with the built in bluetooth in my Infiniti 2008 G37 Coupe. According to their website http://www.infinitiusa.com/bluetooth/results.html?vehicle=G+Coupe&year=2008&equip=Navig ation+System&mfg=Samsung&x=36&y=14
its not listed as a compatible phone nor are they even testing it! http://www.infinitiusa.com/bluetooth/testing.html I guess the bluetooth technology in the phone is so new it doesn't work. But older phones work fine. Can someone work some magic and make some program to get my bluetooth (and maybe other people's out there) working? Thanks. |

Re: Can Bluetooth be hacked to work with my car?
Mine works fine with my Ram 1500 using uConnect. Now - the car won't work as a bluetooth speaker but will as a cell phone interface.

Mine is paired with a Ford Taurus (2008) as a Wireless Stereo and Hand Free devices. I mention this to suggest you may have to select the type of device the Omnia is for the car's system to recognize it.

Re: Can Bluetooth be hacked to work with my car?
There's a known issue with the microsoft BT stack in WM and nissian/infiniti cars with the navigation system. Does your car have navigaiton? If not, it should work. If it does, the audio will not get routed correctly (I have a G35 sedan with nav). You can get the audio working by switching the call to the handset and then switching back to the car (for every call), but it is a pain. I'm still hoping that someday, someone figures out a hack for it. I think it could be done with a registry hack similar to the one for the Q9C: http://www.everythingwm.com/forum/mo...lem-16833.html
I tried to do something similar with the omnia, but the Q9C uses a widcomm bt stack and the omnia uses microsoft's. Hopefully somebody will figure it out. |
