240 X 400 for portrait 400 x 240 for landscape....or 400 x 400 as a universal. Just be sure to set the 400 x 400 through the today settings, not file explorer and it will look good both portrait and landscape. If you do it through file explorer it will look tiled in landscape...

Hmm, I have set my 400X400 through file explorer and not had a problem. What makes you say that?

usually when you set it through file explorer you have to select which part of the pic to display. Then when it switches modes to landscape it still tries to display the same part and becomes tiled...at least for me.

Hmm, I have never had an issue. Though, I'm not moving anything around either.

Change the size? You can't. Once you tell it to use as a background you can select the exact area you want to use on the screen. This is done by moving the shaded area on the picture to where you want it. It is usually centered. It is then centered on the landscape also.

Make sure you change the transparency level to 0 or there will be a gray haze on your picture.
