Last.fm proxy
3 Attachment(s)
OK so i was supposed to do this 2 days ago, but i have been moving my server which took way longer than expected.
Anyhow this is how you set up a last.fm proxy, on pretty much any machine, and all this can be found in the help files with the exception of the correct url to use... Anyhow first instal python (Ive attached a cab, but if you run your proxy from a desktop you'll have to get the windows instal .exe) Now install last.fm proxy. If you plan to run this on your phone the only configuration required is your username and password for your last.fm account. If you intend to run this as a server, then youll have to change the IP to your machines current IP, and make sure you forward the port to said machine if your behind a router. I want to reiterate, all of this is in the help files, and im not telling you anything you wont find in the downloads... yet. Now once your set up, it will tell you to open a link in your browser copy past blah blah blah IGNORE THIS if your running from the same machine, open your favorite player, choose open url, open stream, or WTF ever wil get you a prompt to enter an IP. if your running your proxy on the phone type in http://127.0.0.1:1881/lastfm.m3u (if you changed the port, change 1881 to the new setting) If you are running your proxy on a different machine, you'll use http://<your machines IP>:1881/lastfm.m3u If you have any questions feel free PM me or post here. Enjoy |

Re: Last.fm proxy
there is no description of whats going on here....
but... i love using Last.FM... so... is this a way to basically have your PC run Last.fm and stream the music to your phone....? there needs to be a last.fm mobile app... :???: |
Re: Last.fm proxy
OK Sorry about that ill explain this a little better.
You have 3 ways to get last.fm on your phone. Easiest is Pocket Scrobbler (IE that IS the mobile app you spoke of) Use your Phone as a proxy server for Last FM Use your Comp as a Proxy Server for last.fm Now the first route is cake, install it and go. Not very feature rich however. Second route is what i described in this thread. Which allows you to point any Media Player capable of streaming at a url and go. I like this as it gives you last.fm + your favorite players options. Third route is to stream it from a computer, which is almost the same but you have a few less options (but also one less app running from youre phone.) One last benefit to using your comp as the proxy... most businesses wont have your personal computers IP blocked... allowing you to stream music to a work machine :)- |

Re: Last.fm proxy
Ok, I jumped on the LastFm band wagon, I have the scrobbler (1.7) and the LastFM cab installed. How in the wrold do I get it to start playing. I have the account logged in on my laptop, have the scrobbler plug-ins for WM Player and iTunes. When I try to connect on the Pro it says it says the connection was rejected by the host machine. My Pandora works great but I wanted to see if LastFM was better like some have said....

Re: Last.fm proxy
last.fm RIP
So last fm is now a pay subscription in most countries, and with that change they also maxe it so you cant stream last.fm without a subscription. in escence the scrobbler and proxy are now useless afaik. |
