Messaging keeps appearing
I don't know if I've never noticed this or changed some setting someplace, but it seems whenever the phone checks for email (every 15 minutes), the Messaging application opens up, but only the title bar changes (to Messaging) and the soft keys change as well. I can still see the application that I was using before since only the title bars had changed. I'm using Adrynalyne's 6.5 ROM (version 3.7 if I remember correctly). Any thoughts? I'll try and get a screenshot if I see it happen again.

I have the same thing, I just ignore it.

Re: Messaging keeps appearing
Well, sure. The messaging app is what processes your email, text and mms. So it runs to check your emails and then shuts back down.

Re: Messaging keeps appearing
Thats been an ongoing issue with 6.5 for a while. Not much we can do about it.

Re: Messaging keeps appearing
Actually, I found the issue. Its WakeonSMS. Im going to remove it from my next rom, but until then, just remove the startup item and soft reset.

Re: Messaging keeps appearing
Cool, I'll check it out, thanks.

Re: Messaging keeps appearing
I flashed to Adrynalyne's 3.8.1 "regular" ROM and it still happens. I never remember this happening before and perhaps it is a 6.5 issue (not that I would know) since this never happened in any 6.1 roms (original, CC20 or Adrynalyne's). Still confused, unless I'm missing something. It gets pretty annoying since it doesn't shut down on its own.

Re: Messaging keeps appearing
Thanks for the advice, but...
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1502/sshot001g.png It's definitely not Alarm Watcher, ClearTemp, IMStartup, Personalizer, EventBroker or Volume Control. I also read this on another forum: Quote:
I also ran each shortcut to see if any of them did anything; they didn't. I removed poutlook from the startup and it still occurs. WakeUpOnSMS isn't even included in this rom AFAIK. So thanks for the advice. |
