Flashing with Vista?
I have been avoiding Vista for as long as possible, but more and more of my customers are using it and I just have to learn it. So this weekend I backed up my laptop and started the process of Format/Reinstall.
Now that I have most of what I use back, I realized that somewhere I read about a problem with flashing the ROM with Vista. So, what do I do? Can I run XP in VMWare or VirtualBox to achieve the flash, or do I need to try to make my laptop dual boot? |
Re: Flashing with Vista?
Vista shouldn't have issues flashing i910 roms.

Re: Flashing with Vista?
yeah I flash with vista on my laptop with no problem. Just make sure in Windows Mobile Device Center you uncheck the usb connections box and you'll be good to go.

Vista > XP. I don't understand why people are so scared of Vista, I've been using it for 3 years. Windows is Windows is Windows. Anyway, only flashed once, but it was in Vista 64, and it went perfectly.

Re: Flashing with Vista?
Thanks for the feedback from everyone!! I was only worried about vista because of previous threads that I thought had read somewhere.... Then again I could just be imagining that memory :)
Now on to Adrynalyne's latest ROM. |

Re: Flashing with Vista?
I've been flashing with Vista with no problem. First the leaked ROM then Adrynalyne's ROM multiple times. In fact, I think in his thread somewhere he recommends it as it's what he uses as he cooks so everything he does is Vista-based.

Re: Flashing with Vista?
I've been using Windows 7 RC to do all of my cooking and flashing. :) Just so you know it will work in the future. ;)
