Change default browser?
 

Brain fart here...I changed my default browser to Opera a while back and can't remember what registry edit I made to do so. I think it is in HKLM\software\microsoft\shell\rai\:defbrowser. The values in there are 0=Opera Browser, 1="\windows\operal.exe", 2=(1), 3=(0).

What do I need to set them back to for PIE to be my default browser? I am trying to test something out and need to do it through PIE. Thanks!

Open Opera, go to settings, and uncheck "default browser". PIE sucks though, and chances are whatever you're trying is going to not work, or at least not as well as it would with Opera.

The Easiest Thing To Do Is To Open Ie. When You Do That, It Will Tell You That "ie Is Not Currently Your Default Browser. Would You Like To Make It Your Default" Just Say Yes And Your Headache Is Done.

Neither of these worked. I do not have Opera checked as the default browser, and IE doesn't ask me when I open it.

Other suggestions?

try checking in opera to make it defualt then open PIE

Didnt work either. After deselecting Opera as my default, the registry information reads 0=Pocket IE, 1=:MSPIE, 2=1, 3=0

Are these the correct settings for PIE default?

What I'm trying to do is add a favorite as a widget in MS3 that will open to the current web page. For some reason when it opens in Opera it opens the cached, static version of the favorite (which is months old). I'm trying the get the url file to open in PIE.

Sorry, not trying to jack your thread, but Volsmcfalls, will the registry edit you referred to make it possible to make any browser as a default? Like Iris or Skyfire? Or only the ones that are included on your ROM? Thanks...

Man this is driving me CRAZY ](*,)

My registry is set for PIE, but my links STILL open in Opera. I checked Opera and it is not set as the default.

Is there another registry key somewhere I am missing?

Mr.wangkai, thanks for the link, quick question though. I went into the registry but it doesnt show Iris in there.I have it installed. I also was thinking of making Mach 5 my default browser, but that's not in there either. Am I out of luck I guess?
