annoying message bubble

Hi guys I have played with a lot of the hacks on this site but after a while I got a bit fed up with the functionalty of the phone so hard reset back to factory settings.

The problem I have is this:

I must have at some point recieved a message which pops up on screen in like a square speech bubble, the problem is I deleteed the message but now have just an empty speech bubble with an exclamation mark in it and for love nor money can I rid myself of it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the notifications widget, as in it's inside the widget bar? If so, it always looks like that until you get a message.

all you have to do is click on the little arrow to bring out the widgets and drag and drop the box onto it and it will be gone. sometimes mine does not go away either, should work for you

ok yes that must be the thing, but why does it keep coming back out of the widget bar all by itslef, when the phone auto rotates it comes back and i cant remember how many times I have to keep putting it back into the widget bar???

You shouldn't have to move it every time you rotate the phone, just move it out of the way, rotate the phone, and move it again (you have 2 different settings for your Widgets). I think it does always come back when you do a soft reset though.
