How do i get my phone to tell me when i get a text???
 

Ok, so i am still having issues with my phone, for whatever reason after i put the beta rom on my phone to unlock the GPS, i cannot get text message notification on my phone. i have it setup to alert me, but it will not. is there something in registry i need to change?? If you're looking for a wake up on SMS feature, try Adrynalyne's ROM.

Assuming you still have ringtones installed that the notifications can use and a wake on SMS feature is something you're wanting without more ROM flashing you could just use the WakeUpOnSMS solution here:

Ok, so i have been getting my phone to wakeup, but it will not play my ringtone when a text message comes through, anyone else experiencing this?? i am really begining not to like this phone.

First time post . . . Not sure about the ringtone issue, but Veritech's suggestion for WakeUpOnSMS worked like a charm (meaning it wakes up my phone AND plays the assigned ringtone) . . . then again, I have yet to flash my Omnia since I'm brand stinkin' new to this world o' PPCs and have a Mac. Slowly figuring it out, and Adryn's ROM is next on my list of things to do . . .

have you verified that the audio file used for the ringtone works? try it in WMP.

I have the same ring tone and my incoming call one, that works fine. i tried the wake up thing, but it only turns my screen on. i am really starting to not like this phone
