New Omnia Owner Needs Help

I have a new Telus Samsung Omnia i910.

I am used to HTC devices, this is the first Samsung smartphone.

I did look through the sticky's and could not find an answer.

In most of the HTC devices, the ROM always had some carrier crapware loaded that uses up valuable ROM space.

Has anyone bene able to determine :

a) Does the Omnia has an extended ROM
b) How to unlock extended ROM to copy the cab files to another area

I cannot find any folder or files on the device or My Storage, I am guessing they must be locked by Telus.

I would appreciate any assistance in this issue.

Thank You in advance,

Dave

1a. The Omnia does not have an extended ROM.
1b. Since there is no extended ROM you can't unlock it. ;)

Are you using the regular file explorer? If yes make sure you set it to see all files.

I am at 7MB left on storage, what uses up all the storage (ROM) memory on the device?

The math does not add up, it looks like the cooked ROM is not an option for me anyway, I would like to find what Telus has loaded the ROM with?

Parts of the ROM.

How much have you installed? If nothing then Teuls seems to have added a bunch of stuff.

Also, just so you know. Samsung ROMs have different parts. The phone part and the PDA part. the pda part is broken in to the customer_csc, eboot, pda, lp bin and contents.

The i900 has access to all of these. Right now verizon phone really have access to the pda portion of the pda part. We are hoping that when Verizon drops the new ROM it will be in exe format and we can get to the rest of these files.

Do you have the amount of RAM free when you start the i910 ? I'm really curious how much is it ?

Right this minute I have 35.47 available, and I`ve got Mobile Shell 3.0, S2U2, and Resco Keyboard installed and running on my Verizon Omnia.
