GPS question
Any1 now why Omnia GPS needs the phone to be on?
My former PDA (HP 6915) did not need the phone to be on in order to do GPS work. Thanks! |

Re: GPS question
I'm assumeing that you are talking about the phone radio... If you are... The GPS in most phones are not like the GPS you buy at walmart. Most phones use the phone to help get the location faster. I can't remember what it's called.

Re: GPS question

Thanks! Still I wonder why my Omnia GPS (assisted by phone) is way more slow than my former HP 6915 GPS without assisted GPS. |
Re: GPS question
You guys are all wrong.
There is no working aGPS on the Omnia right now. It cannot use GPS when the phone is off, because the GPS is built into the radio. Turn off the radio, turn off the GPS. If you don't believe me, use nodata.cab to turn off data, then use google maps. It still gets a lock. aGPS uses data. |

Re: GPS question
