You can't delete the old opera. It is part of the ROM. You can delete any links to it if the newer version doesn't write over them. They will reappear again when you do a hard reset.

The uninstall may have taken something the old version still needed. If you can't find the culprit easily you may need to hard reset to get it all back again.

Technically, yes. However, you will be using more memory in effect since you can not get rid of the files in the ROM. If your OK with this then by all means proceed.

Hard resetting is overkill, usually. If you dissect a cab file, you can usually see what files get installed, and remove them accordingly if the uninstall doesn't work, or doesn't do the job completely.

I went to the opera mobile site and found the (assumed) correct page with downloads. two available new downloads one being a beta for use with gears. I chose that one and downloaded gears first. reset, and downloaded opera. During loading it stopped and stated that it could not install. VZ i910. So went to the other non-gears version and it too stated, could not install. I've put a ton of stuff on my phone but have about 20Mb left over program memory. 10 storage memory. Is this just me? Is anyone installing successfully?
Here, I will attach the file for purpose of analysis. (requires Google gears)
