Adrynalyne, yes, it does disable it off, but in the horizontal position. As soon as you turn the phone back vertically, Clear Type is back on. I would like to have Clear Type totally disabled.

Sorry, wish I could help you. I checked, and it stayed disabled, even on rotation.
