Question about Pandora

I tried to search for this but couldn't find it. I had Pandora working fine. Today I either get a debug assertion failed message or it just sits trying to connect and never does. I installed ifonz last night. Could that have messed it up and if so, is there a fix? That's the only change.

I

Thanks

Re: Question about Pandora

I hadn't run pandora in a couple of weeks, so I booted it up after reading your post. Worked fine...In fact my 4yr old is now next to me dancing to it. So It's not a problem on the server end. I ran ifonz for a while on my omnia & don't remember having a problem with pandora.

porkchop (I never thought I would actually refer to a person by that name LOL)...have you tried a soft reset (I know...the obvious first though)? I would ask you to check another data-dependent app (PIE, Opera....) and see if your data connection is on and stable.

Yep, did the reset. Everything else works fine. I am pretty bummed.

OK....first off....I just noticed your post count....Welcome to the community!!!

Secondly....Try to uninstall Pandora and reinstall again. Sometimes that works. If not...how much do you have installed? Do you use a backup app?

Thanks for the welcome. I joined back when I first got my phone but I am not a technical person so I just read and if I understand what you guys are talking about, I do it. LOL. This is new to me. My husband always did the tweaks on my 6700 but won't touch my Omnia. He says he hates it. I think he is jealous. LOL

I tried just uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn't work so I went for it and did a hard reset on my device and internal storage to bring the phone back to factory settings. I put Pandora on and it worked again so I put ifonz on and it is working fine. Weird, but I'm happy. I will just keep testing every time I install any apps to see if anything else messes it up again.

Thanks for all he help.

Re: Question about Pandora

Glad you got it going...sometimes odd occurances like that happen that there is no 'reason' or fix for (other than starting from scratch). One suggestion I would make though is (if you don't already) pick up a good backup app and do occasional backups. It is possible that if you had a backup of the last known working configuration of your PPC with Pandora on it you may have been able to reset, restore to that point, try iFonz on again and wound-up with everything working!!! (possibly not, but a backup app is a 'must have' in my book anyway!!!)
