Re: A must read here!!!!

Very nice - I am a telecommute but have to go into the office bi-weekly to show them I still have a pulse...

Had fun showing off the Omnia - only had it for a week and a half and no where near done tweaking it out. SOme of the iPhone people didnt like it. I think snotty or snooty is the correct term. Screw them. Apple makes cool devices, they have a awsome grasp on making things "look" really cool....But say what you want - even tho Vista is getting smeared in the media it still has a 10 to 1 lead in sales over iMac....and I see tht carries over to the mobile field as well

WMWifiRouter - Was a big hit - was able to test to two devices via wifi and agai using BT - but wifi is faster.

Using the SPB Shell and Imarche's skins right now. And on the today screen got Sammy's Today 2 running.

Camera was a big hit. It really is the best camera in any PDA/phone device out there

Re: A must read here!!!!

but the information is skewed. If you look, Samsung might show as #1 on the chart, you have to realize that HTC represent over 1/2 of the devices on there. ahahah

Re: A must read here!!!!

If I am reading the chart correctly, I don't think it is indicating the Omnia is the #1 top seller, I think the image of a device is shown as they reach the million mark, but it is on the graph showing the WHEN (x-axis). How high on the graph (y axis) I think is the total WM devices to hit that mark....if you notice, each device goes up exactly one point...kinda coincidental if it is meant as anything else...AKA I believe the Omnia is the 11th WM device to reach the one million mark.

Confusing I know...did I muddy the waters more, or did I explain it well enough?

P.S. Your correct that HTC is the big hitter with the majority (6) of those 11 being HTC!!!! With Samsung in second with 3.

Re: A must read here!!!!

What I am more curious to know is that since HTC holds the top spot, they have stronger buying power. Meaning they would get upgrade, flashes, and rom faster than Omnia.

Would be nice to have a new rom for this i910 :(

Windows Mobile phones tops Krusell smartphone list, kicks iPhone out of top 10

Krusell, Swedish maker of exclusive luxury cases for smartphones worldwide has seen the iPhone dropping out of its list of top 10 devices buying cases in January 2009, to be replaced by a cadre of very capable Windows Mobile devices.
The list, which now features luminaries like the Samsung Omnia, Touch HD, Xperia X1 and the Touch Diamond, is currently topped by the very well selling Samsung Omnia.
Krusell - TOP-10 selling phones in January 2009.

1. (1) Samsung SGH-i900/i910 Omnia
2. (-) HTC Touch HD
3. (9) Nokia E51
4. (-) Blackberry Storm
5. (2) Nokia 6300
6. (5) Nokia 3109
7. (7) Sony Ericsson X1 Xperia
8. (8) Nokia E71
9. (-) Nokia 6220
10. (10) HTC Diamond
() = Last month’s position.

With Omnia making moves up the charts and in the hands of consumers I am now more baffled as to why upgrades, support, apps and a host of other consumer happiness amenities are not in place by now.

I, along with you smilepak, am waiting for even the leak/confirmation of a ROM upgrade for the i910. Something....

Re: A must read here!!!!

I keep checking, as soon as there is the slightest hint of word I am sure these forums will be buzzing with it!!! I think the main difference with the updates is that the i900 has had some and has custom ROMs like crazy, but it has been out for a bit. The i910 has only been out for a few months, so it isn't quite there yet as far as getting the attention it needs.

Now...as far as Krusell goes...they make one H___ of a case!!!! I'm hoping they come out with a nice Omnia one soon. I think they have one, but I am kinda specific on what I like, and Krusell is THE best!!!

I give it to you, you are a stand up guy for the cause. You are the Omnia "Job." I on the other hand am not as impatient. ESPECIALLY after seeing this:

Nokia 5800 firmware update

Tags: 5800, firmware, Services
http://noknok.tv/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/5800.jpgWith the first big Nokia release of the year still a week away here in the UK, Nokia has issued a Nokia 5800 firmware update for those devices already in circulation.
The update takes the new smartphone to firmware v11.0.008 from the previous v10.0.010 and from what we can see it offers greater stability to the operating system, as well a number of minor bug fixes."

This phone is almost as old as the i910 and it already has a firmware upgrade?!? I was going to get this phone until I heard that Nokia was going to make the N97 - which, at the time would be 6 months away. I got the Omnia instead. Finding out that the Omnia (i900 and i910 combined) have sold a million phones too has not helped me either...

Samsung needs to really step it up IMO. Quick. I am 2 months, 2 more glitches and $175 away from breaking this VZN contract at this point.
