Why No Forward Facing Camera i910?
 

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me why the i910 (Verizon) doesn't get a camera facing the operator while the i900 does?

From what I have read, video phone calls aren't supported on U.S. cell networks, so the i910 doesn't have the camera installed since it can't be used in the states.

Hopefully this will change when the 4G networks start rolling out. Between the release of WM7 (scheduled for 1Q 2010) and the Verizon LTE network (also scheduled for 1Q 2010) coming out, I see some very cool devices being made available in the next 12-18 months. Can you cay Omnia v2.0?!!

Sorry to not have looked deeper...that's what happens when one doesn't use the SEARCH feature!

Not true. AT&t supports video calling. Is just the telco's dont want data to be used up that way, so they have the manufacturer remove it. 3g data speeds are more than capable of video calling, gsm networks overseas use it all the time

Doesnt really matter seeing how CDMA pretty much rules the US, and it will never support video calling.

i got video calling but you have to use the back camera if u don't mind its pretty cool.
