I'm going to go out on a limb here and say tmc_adio07 works for VZW???? That is great that we have insiders to the carriers in the forums, that helps explain the inner-workings of how they operate!! Thanks for filling in the blanks on a couple questions, and I hope Cmass' issue is rectified!!

P.S. As an employee (I am still assuming) have you heard anything about the rumored update to the ROM, or any more info on the GPS being unlocked? No sweat if you haven't, and I understand if you CAN'T comment on them.....just curious!! :-)

Haha your welcome Syrguy, yeah I've been working there about 3 years now, its a job I suppose. I've heard alot about that GPS unlocked question, mostly rumours, nothing for sure for sure, but only thing major I've heard is that verizon wants to keep it locked and then restricted to only VZNavigator, but I've heard its not going to last long. An update is for sure though, there are ALOT of trouble tickets out (low signal in areas it shouldn't be, more of the network side rather than software). Samsung wants to correct keyboard errors (not sure why, haven't looked up anything about it?), fix freezing issues and battery problems. only thing that sucks is it's up to Verizon to unlock ports for "other developers" assuming Telenav, etc. Hopefully all is fixed, I wish I had this phone, looks nice.

I think the phone is great!! I don't have any battery issues except that I haven't found an app that can give an accurate reading on it for some reason, but the battery life is great on mine!!! Except for the camera issue here I haven't heard any major issues with it!! The only 'official' word I have heard on the GPS promissed in the first half of 2009, but another member stated the first quarter....in the end, who knows!! I think they are getting such backlash about it that they won't have much choice....besides as soon as the first updated ROM comes out (maybe sooner) it will get cracked anyway.

As far as just a job....I've been trying to get a job at a couple local stores here for a LONG time, I think it is pretty cool to work in a field I have an actual interest in LOL!!!

Cmass do you have the insurance with Verizon? if so within 30 days or not if your phone is defective in any way you should be covered after 30 days the only thing you wont be able to do is get a refund...I'm just shocked that the people at that store turned you away...

.....I just got back from visiting the Verizon dealer in another town to compare cameras. They were indeed a hell of a lot nicer and did not do everything they could to disprove what I was seeing.

THIS IS WEIRD!!!

The store had an Omnia display model that also had the same pink glow...HOWEVER, when I started walking around looking I found that most other phones - regardless of brand - also had a pink look to them. Some were worse than others but most were distinctly visible.

Weirder still, the techs saw it and were stumped as to why nobody noticed this effect before - especially since it was on so many phones! Perhaps I radiate a strong electromagnetic field that messes with camera CCDs.

Either way, I'm guessing the CCDs come from very few suppliers and are doled out to the various mobile device companies en mass. There is likely nothing I can do to fix this - even if I get a different brand of phone. It's odd though because my Dare does NOT have this issue.

I just love sprint and it's perky discounts, plus Verizon doesn't have EVDO service where I live...so thats a down.

Heck....I would work for VZW, AT&T, Sprint.....If the interest is there, and they would actually pay me for what I enjoy learning/sharing for free.....I don't consider it a conflict of interests at all LOL!!!!

I think he's a pretty luck guy....keeps on top of both services!!!!

I think it would be a VERY wise move for various carriers and mobile device manufacturers to pay attention to and be involved in these forums. Primarily as observers but also DO some of the things people are doing and trying and experiencing some of the difficulties and fun things that are out of the normal bounds of their respective corporate boxes.

Ahhhh No EVDO... okay... well that's cool plus its just a job right? not like they're paying you extra to promote their phones...
