Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Why can't my phone keep the right time? When I disconnect from broadband it automatically changes my time. Also is the another way to display the time without selecting it in the today menu? I don't like the widget either because I haven't figured out if I can customize it or not.....would reading the instructions help?

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Hi all

This is my first post so please forgive me if I do something wrong! I have an Omnia but the touch screen bothers me, I cannot use my fingers to type with the "keyboard" settings as the letters are too small and not accurate enough even for my tiny thumbs! Even when I "write" using the stylus, I find that I have to press extremely hard to be accurate, and certain parts of the screen seem to have almost worn out, I am forced to use my screen in a landscape way as the part of the screen nearest the bottom (when portrait) is VERY inaccurate to touch. I do use a screen-protector obviously to avoid scratches, etc but surely this shouldn't make too much of a difference?

The thing I would like to know is has anyone else experienced this problem, or is it perhaps a once-off manufacturing fault and I need to have it repaired by Samsung?

Thanks so much!

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

ronittie...welcome to the community, and I know what you mean about the keyboard!!! I am assuming since your just starting with it your using the keyboard that came with the Omnia. I would suggest using a third party keyboard. There are a few suggestions I would give you.

There are two great ones that cost $:

SPB has a full-screen mode with their keyboard: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/fsk/

RESCO gives a lot of finger-space on theirs: http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/

Or you can use Finger Keyboard2 found right here in this community, is free, has many skins, and is pretty easy on the fingers as well (I use this one currently): http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...inger+keyboard

(I have used all of the above, they all work great, and all are 100% better than the stock keyboard (that I can't use at all)!!!!)

Good luck

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

I have found that with all of the keyboards i've tried (and i've tried them all) that the samsung keypad is the one i've grown to love. Second to that, fingerkeyboard 2.1 is really nice, just too small for my chubby fingers.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

I like to use the samsung keypad when in portrait and the regular samsung keyboard in landscape. Omniasip allows this to happen automatically... but I've had problems with it on recent roms... not sure why... just stopped using it, for now.

Re: Omnia problems and solutions thread!!!

Here's my huge problem!

I flashed a rom on using the UMDL way and now my Omnia is stuck on flight mode. Can't do *228 or anything. I dialed #43574357* to bring up device info. PDA Version is s:i910.1.ov.cfo3.20961. Phone version, phone number, meid, system id,channel,esn,prl/eri,technology and network all say N/A. I went to settings->system->version and rom version, modem version,h/w version, prl version, wdc all say N/A also. Is my phone bricked/dead or can it be revived?!?!
