TouchFlo 3D/Manilla on Omnia
Greetings. Was wondering. As nice as it is that this new piece of kit has a touchable side toolbar and floatable icons... It's not really what I'm looking for (and figure I'm not alone_. I was hoping to be able to load TouchFlo 3D (identical to what is on the TouchPro). Anyone have any suggestions?
I'll no doubt try loading it if available. Otherwise, I'll resort to using UltimateLaunch and PhoneAlarm... with a simple digital clock at the top (speaking of which... anyone have a good idea which one to use?). I, too, am eagerly awaiting instructions as to cracking the device and unlocking the GPS - to be able to use LiveSearch and Google Maps. If this device proves as promised.... this new forum will be VERY busy! I originally purchased the Storm, but aside from the gaps around floating screen (that are sure to invite dust, dirt and moisture) and the slow individual dedicated button pushes and its noted lag time - all make for an impatient user! NOT what the majority of us here at PPC Geeks are about! Add to that the missing WiFi and the non-Windows format made for an unhappy user. It went back in less than 24 hours. I then preordered the TouchPro - based on reviews, but was greatly UNimpressed that it didn't have a bigger screen, as its got what looked to be a smaller screen footprint for the design! The selling points for me with this newer device are the high quality camera, the ability to send video and audio via mail... makes for near instant updating of emergency personnel as to known hazards and methods of patient injury - right from the scene! Surgeons can have a "first hand view" of the cause of the injuries they will be addressing - before the patient arrives in the ED. And the 8 GIG on board memory/storage surely can't hurt. (although some articles have noted a 16 GIG dedicated storage and a slot that take up to a 16 GIG micro card.) I've previously owned about 8 VX6700 and VX6800 devices - following a healthy amount of clamshell formats, and was quite happy with the foldout keyboards of late - as I was able to actually SEE a good amount of the text I had just typed (on the screen). I am happy to report the on-screen thumb typing aspect of the Omnia is not without a modicum of pleasure, no doubt aided by the new tactile response of device. That said, mark me down as yet another convert - willing to tempt bricking my handy device... all in the name of advancing the technology at our fingertips...!! |
Re: TouchFlo 3D/Manilla on Omnia
My best guess is that you will need to copy the Manilla/Touch Flo files over to your phone.. I do not know how to do this, but I bet that is the basic set up.. You could also try Spb Mobile Shell... With the brain power here and over at XDA, the GPS will be unlocked real quick.. Happy you enjoy your purchase..

nope, touchflo3d cant run on the omnia due to missing drivers. You can use touchflo2d just fine though, it has been optimized for wqvga screens also

Re: TouchFlo 3D/Manilla on Omnia
Touch Flo 3D is the Touch Flo on the Touch Pro or the Diamond... Touch Flo 2D is the interface on the Touch...

Quote:
touchflo3d is the full blown manila interface designed by htc for more powerful vga devices like diamond and pro, and touchflo2d is the watered down version to be used in qvga so they dont miss out on the fun also in case someboday was wondering... |
