GPS with verizon firmware

I just reloaded my phone with the most current firmware from Samsung. I still did not have working GPS and did not want to go with a cooked firmware yet. I had been doing allot of searching to get the GPS working on the phone and finally ran across a post on another site that helped. I just had to download GPS Toggle http://www.baf.cc/gpstoggle then reboot the phone after that all I have to do is turn on GPS Toggle wait for it to connect to satellites and then open any GPS program I want and it works. I have been using Google maps.

Just thought I would share this.

I get quick locks by not holding on to device until it locks. Usually takes 45sec. with gmaps and iGO using DC22 stock rom. With CC20 I had to use gps gate or toggle. But no more. Set device down outside or on dash and see how it goes.

good day

I use SPB Mobile Shell and never use my today screen, is there a way to add a widget for GPS Toggle?

Wirelessly posted (Omnia1: Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; Windows CE; Opera Mobi/9.5; U; en) VZW:SCH-i910 PPC 240x400)

maybe Im just confused but my Bing, google maps, bike map app lock onto gps signals if I just turn location from 911 only to on. I leave location on,have "use gps" enabled on the apps and have no problem getting locks. Ive got stock rom, mobile shell 3.5 and no gps toggle apps.

For me the locks always come quickly if I use the GPS daily. If I let it sit for a few days and then try to use the GPS, it takes much longer to lock on.
