I just came to vzw to pay my bill, so I did and the manager helped me. so I asked when was omnia 2 was gonna be available, so she said,"december 2nd". I was surpriced. so I asked really? and she said,"yes december 2nd". too bad they can't save one for me if they run out of phones..any ways Im getting mine of december 2nd yaaahy finally..

I've seen several reports say that the Omnia is one of the best selling WM phones ever, actually. There are just so many of them to choose from that none will ever be "that big."

I played with the demo phone in my local store last week.. all the stores should have the demo phone by now - but they just might not let you know or touch them yet. I wasn't impressed at all with the new iPhone type menu system. I kept clicking on things just from trying to turn the page :( Oh and the optical pad feels very cheap like you might rub the top cover off it after a few days use. :(

The sheild is just a menu button. The biggest let down about this phone is the settings are locked down with the touch wiz bs. Hardware is nice, but I'd pass at least until someone cooks with it. It also has an irritating vibration feedback that makes it feel cheap. Think of it as a Rogue minus the physical keyboard with a slight dash of winmo. Great for soccer moms!

O2 for soccer moms? Doubtful. Iphones are for soccer moms.

I haven't actually held it yet, but if it's like the O1, the vibration (haptic feedback) can be disabled. Touchwiz is bypassed with Mobile Shell. Like the O1, the shield is most likely optical.

800 MHZ processor, making this the most powerful Processor to release. Faster than the 3GS at 600 MHZ.

No, the 800Mhz processor is based on a much older design, and is nowhere near as fast as the iPhone 3GS 600Mhz. It's like comparing a 3Ghz Pentium 4 to a 2.4Ghz Core2Duo. Even in single threaded applications the Core2Duo completely and utterly destroys the P4, even though it's 600Mhz "slower".
