GPS Baud Rate?
I know GPS is set up as default to com 6 on the omnia 2...but what is the baud rate? 4800? higher?

Yes, the O2 came with GPS set to COM 6 but it didn't work for me at that setting. Google Maps, for example, kept getting an immediate "Retry" screen. With GM, letting Windows control and it works. If you manually set, use COM 8 and 57600 baud; same as the Omnia 1. I also checked this with GPSTest and it scanned the COM ports and settled on COM 8 within 5-10 seconds. Bing also works with these settings and it "Locates Me" automatically within 5 seconds after opening the program. I'd be curious why Samsung/Verizon delivered these things with settings that don't work for some programs. |

Re: GPS Baud Rate?
I'm using Verizon's i920 Omnia 2. How do you change the baud rate? Through "settings" I can only change the GPS program port...

Re: GPS Baud Rate?
ic, how's that working out for ya? By any chance does your car have a usb port? When I hook my O2 to my car via USB (mass storage mode) the GPS seems to get disabled... :(
If I get the USB settings to Active sync mode then the battery won't charge... and I'm having issues with my 3-in-1 charger that I bought from online :( :( arrrrrg!! |
