Hardware Reset Button / Hard Reset ?
Anyone know if the Moment has a reset button and / or a hard reset option via hardware? I know there is a "factory reset" option within the settings, but what happens when the unit locks up or you've installed an app/widget that makes your unit stop functioning correctly?

Take the battery out to restart it then do the factory reset.

Re: Hardware Reset Button / Hard Reset ?
I am 100 percent sure there is a hard key combination to do a full hard reset but on your device i dont know what that combination could be, usually you have to hold the send button plus the soft reset button, you might wanna look on the device's manual.

How? If the screen is locked because too many pattern attempts that is not going to work. I have searched everywhere and unable to find a way. And there isn't a way listed in the manual unfortunately. |
Re: Hardware Reset Button / Hard Reset ?
Word on the street is that a "true" hardware reset can only be performed by a program that only Sprint techs have access to. You can always revert to factory defaults through the menu>settings>sdcard>factory data reset option....you've gotta be booted to do it.
If anyone has info to the contrary that would be awesome. |

I work for Sprint Corp Tech support.. and had someone call in today and I referred them to a repair shop. I think it is stupid not being able to do a 'hard' reset without being able to acces the phone. |

WARNING; This May and Will mess up your phone if you do not know what you are doing! I can not help you if you do mess up your phone, be sure you made a back up. Play around at your own risk! Take out the battery, put it back in. Simultaneously press [Send] + [Center Track] + [End] buttons on bottom portion of front face. It will turn on and display "Samsung" and fill a grey bar, then turn yellowish, poof you are now at the self test menu. Enjoy, don't forget to click thanks if you found that helpful. -CC |

Re: Hardware Reset Button / Hard Reset ?
So i did that.. and maybe it's my lack of familiarity, but End/Send you mean the Green and red buttons on the bottom right? Cause I hold em both down and it does not take me to the self test menu.

Re: Hardware Reset Button / Hard Reset ?
He meant press the Call, Center (Trackpad), and End Call hardware buttons.

Sup Brock, long time no see! That is correct, take the battery out for a second and then reinsert it. Remember to press and hold the vlolume down button first. While continuing to press and hold the volume down button, press and hold the send button. While continuing to press and hold the two previous buttons, press and hold the end/power button. Continue to press and hold all three buttons until SAMSUNG screen comes up and the progress bar runs fully. Then you may release and follow prompts to reset. It was the third option if I remember correctly. Best of luck y'all! |
