2.1 Root??
 

Ok, so I'm sorry if this has been answered already but I'm getting kinda confused. I know 2.1 was leaked early and rooted shortly after. Ive seen the "Calkulin's Moment 2.1 ROM (v1.5)" update which looks nice and some other 2.1 update on the SDX forums.

I just wondering if there is just a simple way to root the official 2.1 release like I had previously did to the 1.5 release. In other words, I have the current 2.1 release from sprint and want to root it without using the "Calkulin's" route. No disrespect to it at all cuz I had his old one and it was dope

Easiest way I know how is in my post here:

You need to install recovery 3.0.x or above and then you can use joeykrim's tool to get rooted. You can create a .zip file and then apply it using the recovery mode. Hope that helps.

yeah thats exactly what I tried before posting this but it appears that I am running 1.5 again now...Im confused

Are you sure you have the right .tar file in the binary folder? I'd redownload it from the sprint website just to be absolutely sure since they all have to be the same name when flashing. That's the only thing I can think of.

i figured it out now. I didnt delete the old tar file before placing the new one in

now heres my new question. with his update, he deleted a few things. most of the annoying things but i still want some of them. how do i get them back?
