Re: Anyone try the new firmware for Intrepid posted on sprint.com

So how do I know what firm ware I have on my Intrepid? When I set up email, I set up my main two emails, then decided to set up GMail, I just put in my user name, and password and it did every thing for me, I wonder if mine came with the latest firm ware, which would explain why I don't have some of the issues that others have mentioned.
Thanks
Terry

Ok I had an emulator on my Palm didn't know you could get it on WM, can you tell me where you got it, and where can I get the games?

I also want to mention that I do love the intrepid, I know others have had problems with it but for me it just works, and I love WM6.5, if 7 goes in the direction that I think it is going THAT will be a step backwards IMO!

First -the old style lock is gone.
Second - email set up, you have gmail, yahoo, live and other email set up.
Third - The latest BING still will not work

More to come when I figure things out.

I could've sworn the old firmware had the gmail, yahoo, and live setup there,
and the old style lock? the sliding one or the one where you had to press unlock? I do not recall the "unlock button" one being there in the old firmware, and both firmwares had the slide to unlock already on it.

I still haven't tried the update yet, but you can get Bing to work (without the force-exit-nag dialog) by changing a setting in the bing.config file to not call home when it launches. It's as easy as changing a key from "True" to "False"

You can google this or let me know if you need more info. Bing works great on the stock firmware for me with the exception of a few keyboard intermittent bugs.

In the old firmware you had a choice of the slide lock and the old style 2 button push, this new one your stuck with the slide.

Well i tried it a couple days ago and im not impressed at all. the biggest difference i have found is it changed some of the test in my text conversations from red to blue. but i have to say my favorite part of the update is that now i have to reset my phone at least 3 times a day because it keeps losing its internet connection. I am NOT impressed and im not happy with this update at all.
