Official changes list :

Approved: 7/02/08
Posted: 7/16/08
Firmware Version: i760.07v.BD14
Below is the description of the Updates, Additions, Improvements, and Fixes of the Samsung i760 MR2 Update;
1. Updates - Operating System Windows Mobile 6.1
2. Adds - Direct open capability to PDF attachments from e-mails. Previously you had to save the PDF to the device before you can open it.
3. Adds - YouTube video playback using Windows Media Player. Previously when you click on a YouTube video clip it would not open and an error message would display "Video format not supported."
4. Improves - Time Zone auto adjustment. Previously the device did not automatically change based on the Time Zone indicator.
5. Fixes - Multiple Bluetooth connection issues (Pairing, and BT DUN).
6. Fixes - Picture Message receive issues. Some MMS messages were not being received due to the process in which EMS messages were rejected.
7. Fixes - Device lock-up issues. Addressed multiple memory management issues that cause the device to become unstable.

Re: WM 6.1 Update

It's not a matter of better, it's a matter of what version of Windows is your computer running.

Re: WM 6.1 Update

Most of the install problems have occurred with Vista. Several people have bricked their phones with this update. I ran it with XP and had no problems. Quite a bit of chatter on this update. http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/samsung-sch-i760/

Re: WM 6.1 Update

ive had no issues with my 6.1 update.

the youtube works like a sum*****, only complaint is that its pretty quiet, ill have to try it with my S9 and see if that makes a difference.

the new task manager works quite well, and the new microsoft office stuffs is awesome.

the threaded sms is awesome too. i actually keep my text messages now.

i like the new notes app alot more than the old one. works really well as a shopping list. you can also leave everything on the list and do a strikethrouh, like you would with a pen and paper list.

the 6.1 update also seems to have solved the problem of the incoming ringer starting out quiet, then playing louder than some hot pants from the 80's.

but yeah, my experiance with the 6.1 update can be described like this::headbang:

Hi anyone here know where i can get the information on how to flash a samsung (verizon/Cdma) I760 to Cricket? I flashed my apache, no problems but this is another story. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I went to 3 cell stores and no one could figure it out.
Thanks

Re: WM 6.1 Update

So far, no difference in battery life. It hasn't hung on me yet. Last night I loaded SPB Pocket Shell, so far so good. I like the threaded SMS, haven't tried the YouTube yet. It does seem faster, though. I installed using the Vista client, and it seemed to hang at first. I was afraid I fried it, but it came back fine.

Re: WM 6.1 Update

one thing ive noticed that really aggrevates me...

if i reset my phone, my sms notification will change from whatever i have it set to, to nothing...

for example:
9AM prior to reset
Ben gets a text, phone vibrates, and will ferrel says, "dont act like your not impressed"

2PM after a reset:
Ben misses 38 text from various people cause my phone did nothing. well, not excatly nothing, but no sound, and no vibrate.

so yeah, that sucks.

Re: WM 6.1 Update

I've just upgraded my SS i760 to 6.1 . Now the IE annoys me with the message "The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again" although I can connect to my wifi network. I'm trying with other browser , hope it'll work this time. Fyi: upgrade my phone with Vista...

I can't find my USB cable for my i760. Is there any way to update from 6.0 to 6.1 from the SD card?
