UI

Hi,
I am looking at upgrading my HTC Touch Pro to the Samsung Galaxy Vibrant on Bell Mobility. I was really looking at the HTC Desire but the Vibrant seems to be winning out.

I am really comfortable with the SenseUI, and is there a way to get the SenseUI on the vibrant. Or stick with the TouchWiz and BeautifulWidgets and other gadget replacements (contact favourites, etc)

Thanks

There is a UI that is very similar to Sense called LauncherPro for Android. I think it's like 5$ or maybe it's free.. cant remember, so you could use something like that if you wanted.

I plan on checking it out when I get the Epic if they ever release the damn thing :)

You won't get Sense on that phone, I am pretty sure of that. I believe LauncherPro does cost a few bucks, ADW Launcher is free, give that a try too. There are a lot of clock widgets and stuff, some are Sense-like some aren't, I use beautiful widgets personally. From what I have seen the new UI on these phones is supposed to be pretty nice. You'll have to wait until you actually pick it up to really judge what you like best.

LauncherPro is free. I have not paid for it in a few months or ever paid for it. I actually like it better then ADW. Each has there bonus. Try them both.

Do any of these show the weather over the whole screen, like Sense does? Like with the clouds floating around?

Beautiful Widgets does, and you can turn it off or on, it's up to you.

Yes it does.

Menu->configure->Set Location->check the box that says "Geolocation"->Continue

With all of the congfigurables available in Beautiful Widgets, it has the HTC clock beat (and this is from a guy who's had HTC from the beginning).

For those that cut their teeth on WinMo phones, the library of skin choices make it so much easier to change the look and feel of the clock that you'll laugh over how much work we used to do to change our clock.
