Battery life Sucks
 

Hello everyone, I just hour the epic touch4g and after hearing so much good news about the battery life I came to conclusion that mines is terrible. I have been using android for a while do I know all the power saving tricks but my phone is constantly warm with nothing running and when its on the charger it gets really hot,thus a couple hours on this beast and shea done, anyone the same problem or have any solutions? Thanks

ya remove all sprints stuff so root it and remove it. i get over a day with heavy use. CIQ alone eats a ton of battery plus sprint is watching your every move so .....

Thanks for da quick response but ain't no way these youtube cats have all there phones rooted talking bout good battery, but I'm going to look into the rooting biz, thanks and what's CIQ?

I think when they say good battery life they are comparing to their current phones. I know my EVO sucks down batteries and I don't EVER turn on 4g. I'm gonna do some comparisons when my shipment arrives. :D

at first my battery life was great i would disconnect the phone at 7am didnt have to connect it to the next day sometime in the morning now i have to connect every night

Really, do you know what changed? Did you install any 3rd party apps, usage increase? I hope it's at least better than my EVO, I carry 2~3 batteries extra because of battery life issues.

i installed some third party apps but nothing that should be draining the battery especially when there not in use i.e. color notes,bible,pandora(not in use all the time), tango, sms pop up . The usage hasnt changed and i havent rooted or installed anything in regards to themes since im waiting for the ACS rom to come out then im going to root.

I got ya, thanks for replying. I have found that some 3rd apps smoke my battery. You check your battery use indicator that shows what is primarily is using the battery?

Interesting in deed. I check it normally just to get a feel of what is killing my battery the most, but I myself am not sure what Android OS really consists of. That being said maybe someone who knows can speak up. It's (Android OS) never been a issue for me, so I never researched it, but if mine does the same I gonna get to the bottom of it. They also say that CIQ mobile analytics app installed by sprint is consistently getting info and relaying it to a 3rd party server. If that's part of the issue, rooting and removing should help out a lot. Mine currently is as follows on my EVO....
