DON'T BE SILLY

Burnt on roms, as if...

LOL. I for one am far from burnt out. I have just been trying to sort through the massive ammounts of comments and such. The Apache forum is hard to stay on top of...

Alwaysbelieve1 03-05-2007 01:15 PM

the reason i posted this is because there really hasnt been any posting regarding the project other than who is who on the team.

it almost seemed like the team was formed and then the Apache forum wnet to be a Ghost Town. people would post about incidental issues, but thats about it. the landmark posting seemed to be over.

no i, for one, am not burnt out. i was merely curious to what the status was and wanted everyone's feedback regarding what was going on behind their closed doors.

It still seems like the end-users are the one's who are the most fired up, but the developers have failed to really comment deeply and frankly.

it almost seems as though the Development forum is a mock setup in order to appease the audience while the real work goes on under the radar. I'm sure all can understand why this would occur when they remember what happened to the bombarded Colonel threads, etc.

i am still working on my roms. i have integrated many more toys into it and just want to make sure all is well. i have actually had about 20 or so betas since my last public release.

if anyone wants to test for me please let me know IN THIS THREAD. i will only be choosing about 3 or 4 people for this who are versed in testing instead of people who simply want to try out a new rom.

thanx everyone for all your further support in the efforts to make the Apache the best ppc we can! together we make a strong and unbreakable team.

or, better yet, PM AlwaysBelieve1 if you'd like to be a tester for him.

no PM. I said post in this thread. I created this thread so I can use it as I see fit.

thanks for trying to help though.

I can test things out for you if you would like.

I'm not burned out, it's just been crazy in real life (tm) so I've not had much play time. I'm going to be working on a clean NETCF OEM and doing my analyst duties on the first release just as soon as I can get above water ;)

Alwaysbelieve1 - if you use this thread to have people ask to use one of your new roms won't this become a place for them to post bugs as well? Shouldn't you have a thread in the Apache section titled as the rom you released so people can discuss it there? That sorta seems to be the trend.... just a thought

You have to understand that there is definitely going to be lag time in handoffs in a project like this where numerous people work in their free time. The roms created before were good, but with only one developer there were quicker releases and more bugs. This project is not at all about making a release in one week or anything it's about eliminating the bugs. That being said lets all be patient as the demands were the only things starting to burn out developers in the first place. I personally am not burnt out, but i haven't been able to help much lately since my PPC is out of commission. It also looks like i won't get it back before i leave for 6 weeks this friday.

Don't worry the project is very much alive and as i've seen on another good free software product in response to "when will the next version be released?":
It will be released when it is ready
