Does Anyone Still Pay for Ringtones?

Does anyone still pay for ringtones?
Is there a reason you would pay for them if you do not right now?
Why would you pay when there is so much for free out there and you can make your own?
Are there successful fully customized sets of sounds for phones that make money these days?

Would love some feedback about this issue!

I do not and never plan to pay again ;)

Why? I make my own and it's so easy, why not?

some people think nothing of the few bucks and just want something to work. they don't want to have to actually think about what they want and then making a clip from their own library.

speaking of which, I can't wait til gv lets us use call tones

I was going to vote for What a stupid thread. LOL.
But decided to explain...
I think I changed my mind... Can I change my vote? LOL.

Never really used ringtones... I made one with my TP and now that I have the TP2 I got the Ringidingdingdingdong ringtone from the Geico commercial and I got it from this site. So there... That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
p.

heh... That Geico commerial one...OMG that is bad...heh

Anyway, it's kind of funny when I got my first phone that could do ringtones, I only wanted one, it was a old ring tone (like a 1960's phone) and I used that forever..

Now, it's the Crank ringtone or the 24 ring tone...yea, I know, nothing special...

The ringtone thing never really wow'ed me...

I'm sure the companies that constantly have the "text now for free ringtones" commercials probably make pretty decent money. Especially since I think the fine print says the charge $10/month.

I make my own cuz It's easy and free, and I don't like any of the ones that are really out there anyway.

Why pay when you have all the options to download or create your own.

I've never paid for a ringtone in my life and not planning to do it. ;-)

Does Anyone Still Pay for Ringtones?

One of the reasons I started this thread is because of a site I came across selling a full package of rings and sounds for iphone and blackberry users. It reminded me of the female voice suite that someone on XDA- put together a few years ago.

Here's an example: iPhone Ringtones - For Professionals
"These aren't ring "tunes."

These aren't some 11-year-olds' ringtones. You'll find no annoying songs, or silly sound effects. iRingPro iPhone ringtone collections consist of smart, attractive, livable alerts engineered to ensure universal appeal, and a high tolerance for routine use and repetition. You might even call them "grown up"."

and: ExecTones – Professional Business RingtonesÂ*|Â* Ringtones

Here's a few ringtones I've made. Hope you guys like them.

i used to be all big about getting different ring tones. spent a few bucks here and there. but that was way way back then. now...i can't really stand hearing most of the silly ring tones that i hear out there. there this guy a while back and his phone started ringing...and the ringtone went something like him being a pimp and his girls are calling. after that...im just happy with what i have that comes with the phone.

although i must agree with Az though. the Geico ringtone IS A MUST HAVE!!
