How do I remove the "start" text from taskbar
 

I have WM 6.5 and want to remove the word Start from the taskbar. Any easy way to do this like a cab?

Its shellres.dll.0409.mui in your windows start menu. This thread tells you all about it in the first post. Tell me what you want it to say and I'll cab one up for you. Or read the post its fairly easy to do it yourself.:)

Thanks :) But I actually just want to remove it. Have no text. I did read that thread, but found no way to totally remove the word. It would be great if you could do that or maybe just have a period or something.

Or as a last resort, anyone know how to change the color of the start text to black? That way it can "disappear" into my black taskbar.

Crap! I installed the cab then did a soft reset just like it asked. Now phone wont boot :( gets stuck in boot screen?( where the person who made the ROM logo is) What can I do? Tried it on a mogul 6.5 ROM (Ryan Mogul's lite)
Wanted to use it on a tp2, but now I am afraid. Advice?

I made two. One is lower case, the other starts with upper case.

If your getting stuck, a hard reset may be in order. What phone are you actually trying to use this on?

Flash back to a stock rom. Just hit a little unbootable cycle. You should be ok.

Nooooo was hoping to not do a hard reset. I am using it on a mogul.

So did a hard reset and tried the cab again and same thing happened. Oh well I can live with the start text.
I did try it with a touch diamond that I have lying around, and the start orb/icon moved and stayed to the right a little bit. It also made the phone pretty sluggish, I could not press start at all. Good thing I had SPB mobile shell, I was able to go to the remove programs and removed the cab and everything is find now.
So its a no go for me.

Ahhh..... QVGA not VGA is the problem, your profile says Touch Pro so figured you were doing this on the TP not another device. Gadgetfreak has some files for the QVGA since he started out on it. Shoot him a PM and ask nicely and I am sure he will set you up. Otherwise the cab works made it for Puff originaly who used it.

Thanks anyways tsowen, I should have probably said it was for mogul. But I did try the cab in my touch diamond (VGA) and the phone acted very sluggish and pressing start did not work, so I dont know maybe its just me :laughing6:
