i was poring over the threads and in the last update (may 24th i think) you said it was fixed because it now packages into a rar instead of zip but it's still zipping for me. i downloaded the newest file i believe so i'm not sure what to do next.

it's still a zip - but using rar.exe to handle it. if you can, please post a screenshot of the error.

also, in the wp-activate installation folder, you should find a "temp" folder. what's in it?

Hello, tried a couple of times, but the configuration script never gave me the screen
to choose black or white icons, just refresh rate.

Ran from folder because from the panel, WP Activate-?, I couldn't find injection or configure
but both files ran from Launch>Programs>WP Widget.

It's working fine but would like to try other icons.

Thanks

hmm - it sounds like an older version to me, but I'm sure you recently downloaded the CAB from the first post, right?

When you run the WP-Activate configuration, does the first screen read "WeatherPanel Widget Configuration Step 1", like this:

Ok, I goofed. Downloaded from XDA. Downloaded from here, installed
and everything happened like magic. Much thanks for great work.

Cheers

Hence the problem with copying and posting files instead of linking to the original post. I wish people wouldn't do that...

Glad you got it working.

One question:

Must use custom WeatherPanel theme (not default themes) ?

In order to activate WeatherPanel's popups, the app actually reads the layout file and figures out the best place to "tap" on it to get the popups to open. Since the default themes are built in, there's nothing for WP-Activate to read - so they don't work.

If you prefer the default themes, another option is to change what happens when you tap the WP-Activate icon - such as have it go to the Today screen instead. There's instructions for doing that in the 4th post (I think)...

Hmm, I'm missing something possibly, misunderstand, probably both,
I feeling a bit dense. That's a lie, feeling 3 miles thick.

Anyways, when I click the widget icon on Lifestyle screen or WP-Activate,
the Weather Panel opens in a new window. Is that the pop-up you refer to
or are there some kind of JavaScript Ajax like interactive pop-ups available
from these themes?

If the latter, can you point me to some themes, lean ones if possible?

Thank you for your time.

 np - yes, those are the popups I'm referring to. The same thing that you see if you go to your Today screen and tap on the WeatherPanel theme with your finger (which is exactly what WP-Activate does).

Your best bet for themes and icons is the WeatherPanel Download Index. When you say "lean", I'm not sure if you mean space taken on the Today screen, or size on disk. One thing to note - all themes and icons can be installed to your storage card.

If you want to save some room, WP is hard coded to look for a folder called WeatherPanel in the root directory of your SD card. This folder can have two sub-folders, Themes and Icons. This allows you to store all your themes and icon sets on your storage card saving a lot of room in main memory.

< Weather Panel Widget SPB Mobile Shell 3 spb3 Lifestyles Screen Auto Update Widget cab install >

Sprint HTC 6800 Mogul Titan Windows Mobile 6.1 WM 6.1

I was thinking RAM. I still got 61MB free in system memory and
have most of the apps I need, I think, except games. Probably
put games on storage card unless performance becomes an issue which
then your suggestion will go into effect.

I can't say thanks enough for your help.
