Not using anything specific. Just the standard MS3 shell layout.

i think thats the problem then, storyr is here now. im almost positive i saw a post by storyr saying you need to be using a custom layout.

UPDATE

I've updated the first post with a new CAB. This version has a new "compact" layout (for Bob) and some improvements to the injection process (much less work to do).

If you don't care about the new layout, no need to update.

Note: This update will probably whack your existing WeatherPanel widgets, so you'll need to re-add them.

storyr,

Thanks for the compact icon!!!

A couple things...:)

Is it possible to change the width of the compact layout to the default "small" Mobile Shell width? With its current width, the icon can't be placed close to the edge of the screen. See the attached screen shot. (BTW, how do I place the shot in this dialog area instead of a separate file that needs to be clicked on to view?)

Secondly, my MS icon doesn't seem to match the WP current info unless I manually run the Configure Widget script. Is there a setting that I'm forgetting about???

Thanks.

Installed PhatPhinger II WQVGA and re-ran the inject Widget. Still a no go. It's something to do with the scripting for sure...

No, a custom layout isn't required.

Try the attached file. Unzip, copy to the WP-Activate install folder, re-inject.

As far as embedding screenshots, I upload to a web site. I think you can attach pics and get thumbnails if they're of a certain format.

darren.wlsn1 probably knows...

The hell you say

What is your widget refresh rate set to? The refresh script grabs the data from WP and updates those funny looking menu items in the WeatherPanel menu that gets installed. It then runs a little app called uBlip.exe that supposed to refresh the MS screen and show the changes.

Oh, I get what you're talking about now - the WP theme. Sorry, my mistake.

Yes, the default WP themes won't work with the activation (pressing an icon). But, this would have nothing to do with the install script...

Have to say great work. But I have one question, how did you get the widget on the professional screen. Would like to put there instead of the default one that came with spb shell

That's actually the Lifestyle panel, made to look like the Professional screen - with the large digital clock widget mod.

Check this thread for links to stuff like that...

Lol no worries - it does look way better on the Omnia. Too bad SPB couldn't get their act together and get a decent weather widget going with current temps...

The new icon is PERFECT! Thanks.

Re: the update of the icon, I guess I'm not quite sure I understand the script. I've turned off the auto update in WP itself. I have the widget set to update every hour (although I tried 15 minutes, without any change) because of the lack of internet I have through most of the day. I usually update the weather in the morning and then again in the late afternoon. No data plan or wireless in the outback ;). However, right now I'm synched to the internet, WP shows Fair and 90; the MS icon shows Clear and 84 (which was the current info an hour ago). If I set the update time in your script to 15 minutes, for instance, and I'm not connected to the internet, will the MS icon still update? Or is there some assumption in your script that "we" are always connected?

BTW, I installed PhatPhinger IV. The switch from MS to WP is much better. Of course, I'll have to tweak you layout to my particular needs; then it'll be perfect ;).

Thanks.
