Dialer skin customization & ROM not needed

It appears to be just a series of images that you can replace. If you view thumbnails you'll be able to pick out the dialer images. You can also extract the iphone.cab and look at the XML file, which gives all the image names (they're bitmaps).

Probably, but ROMs (in this case) overwrite the whole system, which is a bit overkill for a theme. This is just a couple of programs that let you customize the look, and a few extra programs to give more function. Nothing that is OEM is really replaced here.

Thanks to everyone for the support, sorry to say it was taken from media fire, and my computer got wiped around the same time so I had no backup of the work. Thanks do daveedem for posting a mirror, I'm updating the opening post with that mirror and I've also re-loaded it to mediafire, but i expect it to come down sometime as well (the first one was up for quite a few months before getting taken though).

An update?
No, sorry to say I haven't touched this skin since, but here is an WA3 skin that looks similar and could be used as a replacement:

I'm thinking of skinning to the wait icon in WA3 so that it becomes the spinny- white loading thing that the iphone has, but no promises on when or if this task will be complete, its just something I'd like to do.

My pleasure... glad I found a site to host it.. hopefully now that it's in your first post, people who don't read the entire thread will find it.

I have seen a few posts from a guy who said he was able to get it rolling on WA3... I didn't have success but i;m about to try it again.. plus I'm about to roll out VS beta 8 and the emulator so i can try it all out in there.

I'll help where I can .. you made a great theme.

Glad to have you back.

For when your adding more of the little red icons, does anyone know the code to display new voicmail? I found these codes but not one for voicemail. Thanks

For the account, I would assume you put the name of the account, not the full email address (if you used mysite[dot]com as the account name instead of myuser[at]mysite[dot]com, or maybe just "myuser") .. but try all combinations

Got this up and running last night and really enjoying it. I am trying to create the red buttons for unread messages in landscape view but I can't see to get the number to be on top of the red button. I've tried all sorts of combinations of bring to front, send to back but can't get it to be on top. Any suggestions?

Has anyone created any other icons? I'd love to get one for IM+ and a handful of other programs!

You need to create 2 things. One is a new button. Then create a new text object. Then you should be able to adjust the position on both basically moving the text over the button.

I've done that but for some reason when I adjust the position of the number it keeps going under the red button despite all my attempts to move it to the front or the red button to the back. (which sends it behind the carbon fiber bar)

I am getting ridiculous freezes up in landscape mode all the time now. I even just booted it up with the landscape mode on and sure enough, frozen.

Do we have any idea what is causing it so perhaps I could turn a feature off just to make it usable?

I had that happen when I put a red button with number on the SMS button in the upper left. I'll try it again and see if I can get it to happen. Your number is definately a New > text?
