For the Touch Pro do I edit the notify.dll or the notify.dll.0409.mui? I was running the stock Verizon ROM. I had issues with the notify.dll see below.

I ran into an issue trying to change the notify.dll. When I changed my icon and added my new dll it messed things up pretty bad on the device. My battery icon started freaking out and would on show a static icon whether it be the full battery or only the charging icon. I also lost the abilty to set an alarm and have my old alarm go off and I could not receive e-mails. Luckily everything that we are doing can be undone with a ROM flash.

Edit the notify.dll.0409.mui and put your custom icons in there not the notify.dll

Re: Custom Taskbar

Hey guys... Haven't posted in a while, been kinda occupied with a new job, and issues therein. However, I've got a little problem... TSOwen, I've been using your taskbar for quite sometime now. The other day while at work, I damaged my device, and got a replacement. It's an HTC Touch Pro from VZW. After recieving the new device, I opted to install the new MR from HTC/UTStarcom, for the official GPS unlock. But apparantly it changes something in the manilla files, or something. Because, now, every time I install any of the taskbar mods, I get the icons, but my volume up and down buttons become just up/down buttons. I've done this quite a few times, so I install sdkcerts, the nuePower for diamond/pro, the taskbar mod (quite like the v6 package), then I copy over the volumecontrol.dll... but, still no love. After install, I can't even get to the volume control. Even if I touch the top bar to get the status screen, and hit the volume button, I get nothing. I have no way to alter my system or ring volumes after install of the taskbar mods. And, it becomes impossible to uninstall. I end up in a hard reset situation. I've been considering going back to the old ROM, just to use the taskbar mods (white icons are so ugly). But there have been some new additions in the new rom, including a newer verison of the Opera browser. I really don't want to go back, but I don't know what to do.

Any ideas anyone???

I elected not to use this battery due to how small it would be with the mirror effect and adding the % above the image you get a tiny icon.

I love those battery graphics. I searched every page from the end to get to these threads, and of course it wasn't good news. I couldn't help but get my hands a bit dirty to see if those would look good or not.

I don't care to have a number read-out, I figured the colors would speak for the battery. I noticed why tsowens chose to not use them. I then enlarged the battery in the icon, and this is what it turned out like.

Attached are the actual icons in case someone else also likes them. Tsowen, I hope you don't mind. There are the slightly bigger icons, and the slightly even bigger.

I've been thinking about doing just that, though it would be a first (cab) for me. First, I need to find out how to make the cab overwrite only the icons for the battery and not the others in the same DLL.

I'll research it for now, but if someone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

P.S. I'm contemplating removing the mirror effect so the battery fits better with the rest of the icons.

Update: view of the battery changing color.

im thinking mirror effect or lack there of would not change the amount of space that this particular icon takes as far as cabbing it up, i think tsowen or gadget freak would be the best people to ask as to how this can be done. oh n if they can make u a version in qvga that would affect a wider variety of ppc users my friend

The mirror effect note is only related to aesthetics, not the making the cab. :)

I need to know that it's at least possible to only include the battery icons in a cab. Tsowen, Gadget Freak, any thoughts?

You want a cab with just the mirro effect looking battery for QVGA if I understand you correctly?
