Title Bar Colour

I have a nice theme that has a black background and I would like to have the title bar black also. I have tried using theme software to make it black but it kept coming up blue. I was finally able to get it to grey.

I did find in the registry the color_titleflatcenter dword but it was set to 1657344 and no amount of hunting has given me any ideas of what to change it to.

Any quick and dirty way to change colour of the background?

thanks

Paul

Re: Title Bar Colour

if you are looking for a flat title bar and bottom bar, you need to add this:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\mrom.ts k]
"Color_TitleFlatCenter"=hex:00,00,00,00
"Color_SoftkeyFlatCenter"=hex:00,00,00,00
"Color_Highlight"=hex:00,00,00,00

Enter it like R,G,B,00

Re: Title Bar Colour

The glossy bars helped but they still look a little grey compared to the background of the theme. Much better though

Thanks

rstoyguy I tried the registry edits as I knew where the location was but didn't know what to put in there. I tried all 0's but if I changed the theme to another and then back again the colour was screwed up again. The funny thing was that the registry dword value was still all 0's.

Lylej2k's little program brought it back to black or nearly so.

Thanks

I am wondering if there is another program that is interfering with the colour. In the theme manager the preview shows solid black, like the background for the theme just goes right to the top of the screen with no line showing for the title bar at all. That;s what I would like to achieve if possible.

picky bugger eh...

Re: Title Bar Colour

mromblad I tried those and the same thing. The title bar is still not really black. One thing I noticed is that when entering the dword value in hex I could not enter the ,'s

00,00,00,00 would not fit. Had to enter it as 00000000

only allowed 8 characters

I will try tweakui as soon as I find it.

thanks

Ok after 30 min of searching I finally found tweakui. This seemed to do the trick. Black is black. I still have a line but oh well I will play with it tomorrow. Here is what it looks like.
