Touch pro 2 vs Droid
 

Hey ya'll, just wondering if someone who has tried both of these out, could compare the two? I currently have a storm, but am just tired of it failing and am switching soon to another phone. I can't find a store that carries the touch pro 2 (and of course the droid isn't out yet), so I am having to go on reviews and would appreciate your help. Thanks

Well like you said the Droid isnt even out yet and the TP2 has been out of stock for several weeks now. I would put my money on the Droid being in stock way before the tp2...

All in all it is a really tuff decision. I have had my TP2 for a few weeks now and all the noise about the Droid is really testing me....

Droid design aesthetic=fail

That device looks like it came straight from the year 2000. They should've just stuck the Android software in a Motorola Timeport and called it a day if that's how they were going to handle the hardware development.

I am toying with the idea of getting the Droid in addition to my TP2. The idea that Verizon might have 2 sweet phones at the same time is making me all goofy. oh, oh, oh, its magic!

I would grab the Droid over the TP2 if I were on Verizon. I think I actually convinced my uncle to get it, he was waiting for the TP2 to come back in stock. I've got SERO with Sprint, so the TP2 is the best I can do

I can't give you comparison with the Touch Pro2 vs the DROID because I only played with the TP2 for like 2 minutes. But I can give you feed back for the DROID. I played with it today and here are my first impressions:

DROID:
* Pretty heavy for its size
* The phone feels solid, very nice feel and thin
* I didn't like the flat keyboard
* The little chin gap looks ugly so does the d-pad
* The browser is fast and it has double tap, nice...
* Sluggish performance for such a high end device, not much, but noticeable; might be fixable via firmware
* I couldn't try the NAV
* Flash wasn't working for some reason when I tried to take a pic
* This phone is still and Android :-S
* I disliked the feedback vibration for the bottom nav
* Screen was not as responsive as my ipod touch 2g

Overall the phone was good but not iphone killer good. I never owned a WM device so hard to compare them both. I also tried the N900 if you want me to share some info on that. :D

i have not seen the Driod in person but i have looked threw some reviews, i like the look of SOME of the software......but it can be changed on the TP2 all you want, so look doesnt really matter. i dont like the keyboard and the crappy stand on the back, i think the gold on the phone looks very tacky, and i dont like the look of the driod either....just my imput....good luck....id say the tp2, from what i have head the tp2 is back in stock from verizon. (also i say if a something is out of stock, its probably good...)

Thanks for all your input. Doesn't sound like it's that much of an improvement over the tp2. would love to hear some more thoughts.

I saw the review on the Droid last night on Attack of the Show, and that thing looked lightening fast! Kevin is even an iPhone lover and still the phone got 4 out of 5 rating which is a really high rating from them. Performance wise it looks awesome, aesthetically it could use some help I think but not enough to keep me from wanting it. I really wanted a TP2 before they came out, but with the pixel issues and the lack of drivers for proper video performance it has scared me away from the TP2. Comparing hardware to hardware isnt really even a comparison in this case, kinda like comparing a mustang to a corvette.
