Re: HTC Hero.
Im going with either the Hero or a Blackberry Tour (maybe even the Essex if I can wait that long). Ill probably go with the Hero unless its a SEP phone just because I really like HTC devices. Buuuuuut since Sprint will probably make it a SEP phone its looking like Blackberry time.

Re: HTC Hero.
I' m a phone junkie and I will be upgrading to the Hero when it is released. I've had fun with WM, but I get tired of all the flashing everytime you look around just to stay up to date with the new stuff. It was fun bout the first few months now it sucks. Once I find a great cook they move on to another phone or get pissed off at people complaining about this an that and stop making'em. Hopfully Android is the OS I've been looking for. Will have to see!

Re: HTC Hero.
HTC Hero, and if and when Sprint releases the Diamond 2 i will pick that up. Dont count WM out yet. Making this a poll probably would yield better results, but at the same time i think there have been many polls about what phone to get next.

Re: HTC Hero.
I will be getting the hero. I am done with windows mobile. It has been nice while it lasted but I think its time to move on. MSoft might change my mind with wm7 but that isn't anywhere close to release yet.

Re: HTC Hero.
nothing special. just another manila interface on a different operating system. it will be ported over to windows anyway, and other than the hardware, you wont be missing out on much. my diamond does all of that stuff NOW, and i am sure Hero is not lag free. i realize flashing can be annoying, but that's a misunderstanding. if you are happy how your phone is running with the particular sys version, don't flash. you only need to flash for things like manila 2.1, windows 6.5. all the apps you can update as you go along. i mean hell, there are people here with mighty 3.9. that's older school.
the way i see it, if you are sick of messing around with windows, it can be a pain in the *** at times i will admit, just get an iphone. you just can't go wrong. no matter how much i try to downplay it, especially around my friends, i simply cannot admit that it's an amazing phone. |

Re: HTC Hero.
My wife is upgrading to the Hero in November. Moving from the Instinct. UGH! I may hold out for the LEO or Diamond 2 depending on how I like her Hero. BTW, the Sprint store in Erie PA told me Hero was shipping with 2 versions. The Android version and a WM 6.5 version. Anyone else heard this?

I feel you but I get a new Phone every year just to "stay up to date" which is impossible becasue technology is updated damn near every hour.LOL. As far as the Iphone goes uhhh, I think it's highly overrated and you gotta be crazy to switch to ATT over Sprint cause Sprint plans are 10x's better.People always complain about Sprint CS yeah they suck but I always ask for a Manager so I don't have to deal with the little people. As far as flashing new ROM's. I have a very stable ROM but after 6 months of using it I have notcied a slow down in it. Why do you think cooks keep updating there ROM's, so they can stay on the cutting edge. That's my 2 cents. Hero here I come. LOL |

The other thing that Android offers that WM doesn't, is a great web browsing capability. With my TP, I use no less than 3 web browsers, each has their own purpose, and stability is an issue with all of them! Hopefully the 1-2 punch from the iPhone / Android phones will give MS the motivation they need to get off their butts and make WM7 a great platform, because right now they are broken, and the other offerings are really starting to highlight that.
