I dyed my Diamond black. I will likely dye my TP2 as well. Although, I do like the Sprunt version of this phone better than the flashy chrome/silver of the European version. Then again I love halloween too... ;)

I see what you're saying. I'm for the Chrome GSM version all the way , but if you are going to color something, at the very least change it to something that would make sense and look agreeable (some subtle use of yellow and richer black).

Right now it looks like something a Ninja Turtle would use (Michaelangelo?)

i'd rather have a little orange on the keyboard than chipping chrome..... although orange might be ugly, at least the phone won't look like it spent a year in the garbage - which is probably what the chrome tp2 versions will look like after a couple months.

good thing i went to a university where orange is one of the school colors

I know right? I hate it. I allso hate that 3rd party vendors will be sloooow or next to never in offering a good battery door like the gsm version for us CDMA users.

before sprint picture leaked, I was worried that sprint would put strong color, like red/pink, and make the back square and thick. after seeing the leaked pictures, it is not as bad. back color is not as strong and the back got curve and round shape, like that of iphone.

even though sprint version is not as nice as the original pro2. it is much better than that of ATT. not only ATT made it red (look my phone got color, like a toy](*,)) and they even change the layout. original pro2 keyboard got highest rating from many reivews. ATT keyboard has no space between keys and it change number key layout. and then put damn red on it ](*,)



U.S. carriers want a bigger role in consumers spending by making their own phones (changing phone color to make it different). when U.S. carriers are going to accept the fact that they are nothing but a dump pipe? and stopping screwing up phone design that they are no good at. Look at those carriers in EU.

Well, I must say that I like the sprint version slightly better but when it comes down to it, who is gonna tell you about how crappy you battery cover is? Its all about the 3.6" screen and the 800*480 resolution.

I don't see anything wrong with it personally. I thought the phone was awesome. Felt great in my hands, looks great. I love the color orange and there really isn't that much on it. The keypad, that is closed 80% of the time and on the battery door in the mesh. That battery door is the same material as the TP 1, so it can be dyed. But I like orange, so I like it and I don't think the colors are bad at all for a professional targeted phone. But everyone is entitled on there opinion and this is just mine.

i like the sprint look, has kinda an urban look to it however the GSM model looks way more sleek (silver keyboard and metal battery cover was the way to go)

I agree MuffinMan, it's crazy how so many people are complaining about the back cover where as 98.6789% lol will be spent at the front of the phone! Ironically it would seem as though majority of the people are nagging about the back cover but the poll states otherwise! IF you dont like the phone Dont get! & if you do then buy it! IT"S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE PEOPLE! (they sound like my ex....why, why, why)

People like the phone so inturn will buy it ... the back cover will not break any deals .. people are just voting there opinion on the change that sprint made....

to me the phone looked like a $700 device chromed out and silver... with the orange effect just makes it look cheaper.. in my opinion... i still will be getting the phone but just wish they left as is

Second, what, 3 more people like the Sprint version over the GSM? LOL Good for you, yesterday GSM was leading all day.

Third, if all your time will be spent on the front of the phone, then surely you noticed the ugly orange keyboard....In case you forgot.

Fourth, If you had READ (which seems to be a comodity these day), you would have seen that people are talking about the following UGLY features of the phone, in addition to the back cover:
A. The Ugly Orange keyboard color.
B. The Ugly TF3D2 Orange and Grey color scheme. WTF's up with that? LOL

Look, if you like it, buy it. No harm done. Just don't "hate on me" if I think your phone's Ugly, lol

And the flashlight is getting replaced by a speaker button? Jesus H. Christ, I'll hold out and save my money for something better, and the back of it does look like it can attach to Lego pieces. Furthermore, I may consider jumping ship if it continues to look like this.

Well as someone said, we're fairing better than AT&T's ver but I wish they'd leave the phone's design alone. I'd have rather had a relevant Yellow & Black theme. And yes, if its big & ugly, it becomes very visible despite the screen.

I'm waiting for the 3rd party doors.

That speaker button is actually one of HTC's selling points on this phone....I think it's a pretty good one. Especially for people who do a lot of conference calling. I generally don't take any pictures with my phones though so the loss of a flash doesn't bother me that much...Come to think of it, maybe I don't take a lot of pictures with my phone because all my phones camera's have sucked...Anyway, I digress....

I wish I was more like those of you who don't care what the design looks like as long as the screen is big and has a high res but when I buy a device for upwards of five hundo or more I want the whole thing to look and feel nice...I think/hope the Sprint TP2 will achieve that. That is also one place you have to give it to Apple and the iPhone. The metal door and the weight of the product make it feel like you are holding a substantial piece of technology....even if it is just a dumbphone on roids...

And to all those that are getting angry? I'm lookin at you Journeyjeans :wink: Relax...it's just opinions on what a phone should have looked like...we're not gonna actually get any changes made here...

Yeah, I learned to live without a flash even with the Apache and Mogul, Their flash actually made things look WORSE... I say the speakerphone system is a way better tradeoff... Great way to bring friends into a local conversation with who is around you...

I agree that the holes are for audio purposes - if you look at the original version on the htc website it has a similar "grilling" grate!

To me, I think with a keyboard/front view that is this nice looking, how would they screw up? If it goes with the Sprint design, then the the little orange spots would be green, thus making it look nicer. And the other alternative is to look like the unlocked version.

For once, I think Verizon isn't going to fubar an HTC Phone. Hell, this is the first time they have had HTC's logo right on the front and not hidden under the cover!!

I actually like what Sprint has done with the TP2. I dont think i would have chosen orange for the battery cover but since its so subtle i think it actually looks pretty tight. I wont make final judgements until i actually see the device in person. Im just really hoping all the reviews so far are true and the battery life is much better on the TP2 compared to the original which i had to get rid of. I really want the Pre but im holding off just so i can give the TP2 a test drive in the store and then make my decision.

I think the good news is that this time we will be able to change the back cover from the gsm tp2, it looks like they will be the same size and the camera/speaker button are in the same place.
