Getting a new phone....but which one??
Hi all,
New here and need some advice badly....I currently Have a HTC P4000, and this phone has been a nightmare, and is a long story, but have decided too upgrade this beast too something newer. I am with Telus in Canada, so I am on CDMA. Basically the 3 phones I have narrowed it down too are the RIM BlackBerry Storm, HTC Touch Pro, and the Samsung Omnia i900. Reading all the reviews has left me at a stand still on these 3. The Samsung is the cheapest and newest (just released this week here). Can you guys give me any feedback of which of these too get?? I know the Storm has some issues, but with the launch of the APPWorld, might be worth the odd bug, as it will still be much smoother than what I got. HTC has left a bad taste in my mouth, but the touch PRO is 4 years newer than the P4000 and from what I hear got all those issues under control, I like the Sliding Keyboard, but it is not a necessity. Samsung Looks good, has the best "stats", but is new here in canada....so I would need advice from the american counterparts on this one. Like I said, the samsung is the cheapest by almost half....money is not an issue, but if the HTC Touch Pro2 is coming soon, I may "tough" it out with the cheaper 1 for the time waiting for it....I was quite Dissapointed too hear the HD wasn't coming and the Pro2 Looks identical. Ultimatley I have a longer wait due too the fact I am on CDMA. Sorry for the long post, and all comments are welcome. TIA, Jon. |
Re: Getting a new phone....but which one??
I like my Touch Pro but Samsung does make a great phone in my experience, I think your choice is between the Samsung and the TP and to narrow it down which ever one that fits your needs the best, I will tell you that imo the Touch Pro seems to be one of the most user friendly phones i have ever had and i had a mogul b4 the Pro and hated it...That being said if you have no use for the apps in it or the programs it will not be the best choice for you...Good luck on your decision and let us know what you go with and how you like it.

i dont think youll get any votes on the Balsckberry here in a Windows mobile forum, but ide say go Touch Pro. when the TP2 comes out you can still sell you Touch Pro on craigs list or Ebay or even here for that matter and cover some of the Cost of the TP2.

Re: Getting a new phone....but which one??
if u do alot of texting & are relatively fast at it .. STAY AWAY FROM THE TOUCH PRO ! :protest::protest::protest: ... im not bashing it .. the text lag is so disgustingly frustrating ](*,).. there are a few cabs & edits that claim to fix it, which didnt work for me .. & custom roms which some claim to make lag disappear which ive yet to attempt as im not that advanced at this point & which large % of users deny to work, or so at least from ive been reading on this & many other sites .. seriously i mite just call it quits for sprint & TP if this TP, 1 of the many replacements ive received cuz this phone sux fails again ..

Re: Getting a new phone....but which one??
my frustration with sprint is they wont even work with me even through all of this .. they offered me dif phones crackberry & palm pre i believe, none of which r close to the price of tp & other then the TEXT LAG lol dont compare at all .. sprint service is excellent .. just this darn phone . ive yet to have any tp work right .. phone #4 all with issues .. stock rom & b4 any tweaks . the newest is working ok .. but the screen appears to be coming out of the phone like its loose .. lol . i cant win .. im not even close to throwing any custom roms in this beast . my luck id fk it up n brick this phone . alot of ppl inform me that the G1 is amazing .. it lacks excel but uses a similar program .. ehh for now im gonna stick it out but im hoping 1 of u genious ppl out here in TP land cand find a fix for this text lag .. id def donate lolol
