Re: 6800 vs Touch Pro vs Touch Diamond?

I use my mogul mostly to tether my laptop. Does the increased memory on the Diamond or the Pro allow for any faster connection speeds? Has anybody seen any comparisons on this function?

Re: 6800 vs Touch Pro vs Touch Diamond?

I just went from the 6800 to the TPro and I have to say it is a much better unit as far as internals....
Much more responsive than the XV.

The Ram is the most likely cause...

The navigational controls are fantastic, and all those programmable softkeys are icing on the cake. It's even a flashlight!
Well both can be flashlights...And I think there were just too many buttons to accidentally hit and change settings on the 6800...

I like the size and the response of the Pro right now...
I think with some tweaking and hacking this Pro will keep me pretty happy!

Increased memory on the handheld won't get you faster cellular broadband service. It is what it is. If you live in a Rev-A coverage area, that's the possible speeds you get.

How long did you run with the Mogul? I think I may be so comfortable with it that I don't feel right with the Touch Pro. I flashed it last night with a rom that was very recently DCMA'ed, and I will take it for another typical work day. It was fully charged last night (4 bars on the battery) and this morning it is at 3. I'm also not going to put it on the charger at all today and see how it holds up.

Re: 6800 vs Touch Pro vs Touch Diamond?

IMO, all HTC had to do was customize the mogul with the internals on the Touch Pro, not give it a complete makeover! I do literally use all the hardware buttons on my mogul at least once per day but ifI can get my hands on a Touch Pro, i'm pretty sure I can deal with it.

so i'm using dcd rom and t2flow....but i get that 25mb ram on start up but easily drops to 15-18. y does the phone eat up the rest of the ram? what is the bare minimum to get that 32 ram?

I'm not sure... I have flashed my mogul several times and always end up with about the same in available rom. I use a tool called oxios to free up ram from time to time, otherwise I have to soft reset at least once per day. IMO the Mogul is an awesome phone. The only drawback and it's huge is the amount of available ram. I don't know what they were thinking... Especially since the 6800 came out after the i-phone.

Re: 6800 vs Touch Pro vs Touch Diamond?

OK... Just got off the phone and got my tracking # for my new Touch Pro! According to UPS should have it by Friday! So goodbye Mogul hello Touch Pro!! Can't wait. It will be like X-Mas all over again... Will definitely be waiting for the man in brown to show up! Cannot wait to have a phone that will have enough ram to take a phone call while in an app. That was the one thing that drove me nuts about the 6800. If I was using Opera mini and a call came in, I had to hit the talk button several times before the phone would answer the damn call.

Re: 6800 vs Touch Pro vs Touch Diamond?

Between Diamond and Touch Pro - are we saying that Pro's battery life is worse than Diamond ? I am thinking of swapping my Diamond with TP...
