Oh for my opinion, having owned both the Diamond and Pro, If you aren't a super-heavy texter and can live with 4GB storage, the Diamond is the phone to get. It seems TF3D was designed with the Diamond in mind, and everything just looks and feels so natural. On the Pro in landscape mode, everything seems like an afterthought, from the sluggish KB in SMS, and the barebones menu in landscape. However, that 5-row keyboard makes life MUCH easier for a text ***** like me. Now only if someone (HTC) would release a real GFX driver for the device and fix the nagging bugs, we might just have THE device to get in 2008. |

Re: Diamond Vs. Pro HELP!
Both are excellent phones. It is REALLY a personal choice.
Anyone who says definitely one is better than the other is just not informed. Again, it really depends on what is important to you. I was initially looking at the Diamond because of it's form factor. But ultimately I chose to TP mainly because of 2 factors. 1. Expandable memory slot (the Diamond has a fixed 4GB memory with no expansion) 2. The Video-out feature. Not many people mention this but if you want to do simple Powerpoint presentations of the fly without a PC this is really a COOL feature. Some of the Diamonds advantages: 1. Obviously the form factor - no keyboard gets rid of alot of bulk 2. FM radio (the possibly could get this in the future... but right now, nada) 3. a bit cheaper in price. |
Re: Diamond Vs. Pro HELP!
I'm having the same problem. I bought the Pro two weeks ago, and my wife has the Diamond. I really like the smaller form factor, but I wanted the expandable memory for my music collection - to replace my dying Creative Zen, and I like the flash on the camera - I don't care what you say, this is a descent pocket camera!
I am now considering swapping my TP for the Diamond. I think the music player is just too akward, with the usb earbuds or a huge attachment for 3.5mm buds. I really like using the keyboard, but it makes the phone thick, and may not be a deal killer to be without it - the block recognizer, soft keyboards and T-9 work pretty well. Can I live on 4GB? I think so - I will probably get a separate MP3 player - maybe an iPod Touch so I can live in both worlds. ;) I haven't made up my mind, just yet. BTW - Are ya'll sure the Diamond still has the FM Radio enabled? I thought that was only on the unlocked imports. |

Re: Diamond Vs. Pro HELP!
Now someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't our TP have video out that the Diamond does not have? I know this isn't a huge deal for most people but it could be for some.
