why is safari and gphone browser faster than opera/ie?
I've tested out the iphone and tmobile's gphone. in both cases, the browser seems more responsive w/ loading pages. is it because those browsers are better, the cpu are better, or the gsm network is better compared to sprint/tp/opera/ie?

neither
its called server filtering...3rd party server filters page so elements aren't dled like a desktop computer btw skyfire is the fastest browser loading pages in under 10 seconds....much faster than the safari |

Re: why is safari and gphone browser faster than opera/ie?
Opera Mini is unique in that it has the Opera servers pre-process the pages, removing any high-bandwidth page elements, restructuring the page so that it fits the screen, and lowering image resolution. On Opera Mobile and such, the pages are processed client-side, which takes longer both to download and to render.
EDIT: Noir got to it first. |
