I need help. Dont be mad! Touch Pro vs BB +?
 

I dont know where else to go. It seems like all other forums are useless except this one. I have the Touch Pro. HATE IT. Slow Slow Slow. Took it to sprint they said it would be like that untill some kind of update releases. I cant wait for that. So it is going back to BBY. I used to have the Treo 700wx very bulky no MMS. I was planning on exchaning my TP for the 800w. From what i heard that 800w is not a good comparison and not a good idea battery life sucks TP is supposed to be better. *you guys will be mad when you hear the next sentence sorry ahead of time* I think instead im giong to get a blackberry curve. Here is my question. The number 1 most important thing to me is MMS. Blackberry doesnt have it i believe. Has anyone heard of anything that i can do to combat this. Software update, Crack, I also heard that maybe sprint was fixing this in NOV but who knows? Maybe you guys do?

Dont take the pro in yet, no one else is having this 'slow' problem you are talking (atleast no one ive seen complaining). Try some tweaks before you give up (atleast hardreset), and if those fail, explain to sprint that youve seen other touchpros without this problem and that they should give you another one thats error free (do this over the phone, instore wont work).

If your most important phone/pda feature is MMS, I wouldn't go anywhere near a Touch Pro. Not worth the money whatsoever just for MMS capabilities. I would look at some of the "regular" phones. They seem to do MMS very well (ie LG, Samsung, Sanyo).

I'm not familiar with Blackberry personally, but I can say you are not going to get very constructive input on blackberry's specifically on this forum.

dont get me wrong. I love to have the features to be able to get on to full web pages. To have GPS built in. To be able to have sprint tv. I like to have a PDA phone. i just need one with MMS

Your post seems to be making a lot of assumptions. If I may offer a few points of advice to help you in your quest...

1. If you ask questions on a forum dedicated to the HTC Touch Pro, ask questions related to the Touch Pro. I have never used a blackberry and likely few who haunt this forum have; those that have aparently didn't like it and gave it up for the Touch Pro, since they are here. If you want suggestions on how to help your touch pro work better, then we might be able to help you.

2. Format your posts a little more carefully. The #1 reason that posts get ignored (in my opinion) is that they are not written in a readable format. Your post is all one big lumpy paragraph with no particular structure to it; it is very difficult to read. Try spacing things out.

3. Be a little more specific on what problems you are experiencing; as mentioned by gobmonster, nobody else has complained of these problems before. This could be because they're used to the quirks of windows mobile and are thrilled that the touch pro is the fastest WM phone out so far, or it could be because you're experiencing abnormal problems. Not sure which, because you haven't specified anything beyond "slow slow slow" that we can help you with.

So, while none of us are likely to give you advice on which blackberry to choose (talk to the sprint store about that; they are usually relatively knowlegable about their phones, at least where I live), we are more than happy to try to help you resolve the issues you are having.

What things are particularly slow that are causing you problems? Specific programs? Basic phone functionality? Details, man, details =]

I thank you guys for your help. I am very new to forums i rarely use to ever use them. If you look at what i posted in the HTC Touch Pro section. I beilive i called it some thing like the phone is slower then... Sorry for being not really good at posting forums. Thanks for puttin up with me.

your touch pro being slow is real weird. mine is real fast and haven't had much for problems. So I am mad lol..... no really just return it and get another one. The first batch of these that were shipped to best buy all had problems including mine that I returned.

What kind of "slow" issues are you experiencing with your touch pro? Mine has its sluggish moments from time to time, especially with the keyboard when typing a text message right after the screen orientation flips. These types of thing have never been uncommon in the ppc world, especially with Windows Mobile based phones with hardware keyboards. My advice would be to keep using the phone for a few more weeks and give it a fair chance to please your needs. If you're still not satisfied, take it back.

i thought all sprint wm phones got a mms (picture mail) update. go to powerdeck.sprint.com on your device. there you should be able to see "check for new updates".

i know that sprint is releasing an update for all wm devices soon, and the blackberrys that have cameras.

word is blackberrys are getting update nov 4th and i was told wm allready got them.
