Looking into Mogul

I am looking into getting either tha touch or the mogul.
But I currently have nextel service.
I've had sprint in the past year but I returned it for total lack of a signal at the house.
is there any way I can make calls with the touch or mogul through Wi-fi at home.

Thanks

Re: Looking into Mogul

I can call LAN lines, right? and backwards.
Also isn't skype free?
So I wouldn't use minutes??
Would I be assigned a Skype phone # or would I just use my normal cell #?

Re: Looking into Mogul

yeah I just found the site.
It's free, so long as you call another skype user.
But you can do montly U.S. only no contract plans for under $3/mo.
More than worth it if someone were to use thier phone at home a lot and couldn't get service.

This is great.
I could actaully get calls at home with sprint now. geeze. cool.
Thanks!

Re: Looking into Mogul

oh one more thing.
Since you're technically using Skype to make the call and not the Sprint network this wouldn't subtract from your monthly Sprint minutes right?

Not that it's a huge amount of $$ but it would seem dumb to pay for skype then turn around and pay for Sprint minutes at the same time.

Nope, it would use your device's data connection or wi-fi to make the call.

IIRC sprint offers plans that just have data, so you only pay for data services and not minuets.

Re: Looking into Mogul

Why not look into Verizon? Four years ago when I had AT&T I had 0 - 1 bar all the time, it was very difficult to place a call. I looked into Nextel, T-Mobile, Cingular, Sprint and Verizon and Verizon gve me 2 - 3 bars on average, all the others were either "No Service" or very low. Then again, those were the days when TDMA was AT&T's backbone so things could be very different now, but all the same, try other companies that offer the Titan.

Airave looks promising. connects to your router using CDMA, rather than wi-fi. Does'nt use data or minutes. A bit pricey.
